well it arrived and not a second to late..... labour day weekend @ baseline station west of Rocky Mountian House, this machine is simply awsome.
My first impression of it was "wow this thing is massive", however after a couple hours of riding i seemed to get used to it. The silverback 30's are as suspected , very rough at lower speeds on hardpacked, and incredible in the mud. The dual mode power steering is very easy to like, and a great idea. The adjustable supension system is very well thought out, and simple to use as well, with just a flick of a switch. I will try and get some pics up as soon as possible for you guys

i had a short video of me playing in a hole seat deep but i cant get it to post properly, im still working on it. and yeah its a pretty aggresive looking machine, pictures really dont do it any justice.

lmao............funny you say that, ive heard that exact same phrase 4 times since friday, seems like an alright fit to me, although getting used to the max platform is certainly different then my 700 grizzly was. i find myself constantly looking to see if im going to hook my rear fenders on trees on narrow trails.

on a slight side note, i was wondering about soft shell rear cargo boxes/bags anyone know of a decent brand soft bag for the rear of this thing and are they waterproof to any extent? Ive always had a plastic (kimpex) brand box that was frely water tight but not totally.having zero dry storage is a real downfall of this machine.
Im also wondering if anyone has rigged up some kind of 12 volt water pump that they could use to wash some of the grime off after a weekend in the bush, doesnt need to have alot of pressure but getting some of the crap off before stuffing it into the toyhauler would be awsome. Would a 12 volt bilge pump of some sort work that you could toss in the nearest river or creek?
any ideas would be welcome thanks

I bought a cheap k'archer 110volt pressure washer from Walmart. I rigged up a hose with the same fitting as my outside shower on my toyhauler. I usually end up going home with half my water, so now I just fire up my generator, kick on my pump, and use it up washing quads.

I've never had a soft bag but a few friends have tried them, they're good for the first few months but then the zipper breads or they leak. Don't think I'd waist my money on one.

we have a boat bilge pump that we sometimes just dunk in the nearest water puddle and it seems to wash most of the crap off the quad farely easy.

The nicest soft bag storage I've seen is made by Ogio. No zippers, they use magnets to close.



I've seen them at Argyll Motorsports. I'm sure there's a few other places that have them as well. I've used a cheap soft bag and after the first use, the velco straps ripped off and it's hard to open the zipper after you get mud on it. And by looking at that machine, you're definately going to get mud on it!!

pm the murminator, I think he knows of a good way that he saw someone else do along the same track that you are thinking.
I believe it was a bilge pump.

x2 on the OGIO bags have seen a few and they look well built

i looked at one of those ogio bags today and they are nice looking , the main storage are is magenetic, not watertight by any means but i guess even the hardshell boxes are about the same. Only hardshell i have found that is very good at water tightness was a kimpex, and i dont want the bolt on type as then the rear storage compartments arent acessable at all, still trying to talk my dealer into dropping the price on the ogio, as 320 bucks is steep, and i found the same bag online for 190 in the states.
As far as the bilge pump , that is a good idea does anyone know if the 12bolt cigarette lighter on a quad will run it at all? and what kind of pressure can a person expect out of it.
And i dont want to comment on the price tag lol, its about 2 arms, a kidney, and maybe part of your spleen if you have a money hungry dealer. All in all though i think if you modded a plain outty 800 the same way it would be about the same. Damn tires alone are 200 bucks a shot...... the prices of these machines nowadays are getting crazy, almost the same as cars lol..

I've got a slightly modded (Tires, Pipe, Skid Plates, Snorkels) 2010 Outlander that I'm into for almost $16k and it doesn't look anything like that! I'd say the MR is a good deal!
