Just a quick question. I'm riding an 08 M1000 and I hate the transfer while I'm riding. I think the Doo's have it down. Has anybody done improvements for this?

I ride an 08 M1 and love the transfer! I find with throttle control and some light leaning this sled goes where I want it to! How much do you weight? I'm 256lbs and 6'4 I have no problems tossing this monster around :d

Bout 185. Light weight. Why I'm not impressed so far.

I found that I had to adjust things like adding a telescoping bar, changed the can out to a lighter MBRP can and adjusted my front and rear suspension for my weight and height. You will find that adjusting the suspension will be a huge difference for transfer, Shock pressure and front ski stance will greatly improve your transfer handling as well. I find narrow ski stance for MTN powder riding is the best, and wide ski stance for trail riding... If you ride the M1000 be proud, where can you buy a sled with a 165HP stock out of the box. Gotta love Suzuki :) With some small adjustments and you learning about your sled will take you along way. Did you buy it from a dealer new????? If so, you may want to check all your torque specs for things like your clutch bolts, check for proper belt deflection, and check clutch alignment. Are you running air-shocks, if so buy the Fox air pump if it didn't come with your sled and begin adjusting your shock pressures, you can do this right on the Mountain to help your riding. These are only a few pointers, this site is all about people helping people! There are others on here I'm sure that will chime in with more info, and the search tool works great for each forum like the M series forum. Welcome to Snow&Mud, stay awhile and you can learn a lot about your M sled. Cheers

The rear skid on the 08-2010 M's doesn't transfer well in stock form. Either get the Burandt Backcountry Update done to the rear skid shocks, try the GEO mod (do a search), or both (which is how my M-sleds are set up). Anything after that (ez-ride, timbersled, holz) is gravy, but you will pay dearly for it (frrom the wallet).

How do you guys have the spring tension set on your non SP front suspension? I am also 6'3 and 235. Curently my spring tension is in the middle of the adjustment range. I don't care about the trail ride up the mountain in terms of ski pressure so would backing the spring tension off make it easier to toss the sled around when in powder?

Thanks, 09 M8

Quite the opposite. Increasing front arm spring pressure will lighten the skis. There is a fine line here though - too much preload will make the sled prone to trenching. On the front ski shocks, reducing preload will make the sled "dive" when turning or off the throttle (which I'm presuming you are trying to obtain)...

I'm 5'10" and 198lbs and I have never had a problem throwing my m1000 2008 around at all. I get on a XP and I cant power turn for the life of me. I even ride with guys with new Doo's and they ask me why they cant ride the thing in powder and I just tell em I can't either! The simplest chassis is the dragon and new pro.. rode them and they flop over whith just a little hip pressure I found. When I bought this sled I was 170lb and still could throw it around so I would suggest get some more seat time or good luck with the Doo if you think thats the awnser..
