Yeah I've heard that if you hand over the keys, it won't be considered stolen.

There are some pathetic parents out there, raising kids who do things like this.

Then again look at how the politicians rip everyone off, morals are rare these days.

Do to the nature of how this happened, I was indeed able report the trailer as stolen and listed as stolen.

The problem is the Alberta Insurance Act has it in their small print that if you exchange a title or bill of sale for a fraudulent document, there is no insurance period. Insurance companies have their rear ends covered six ways to sunday.

So I am out of pocket the whole amount. Sucks and is hard to recover from.

Great idea! I'll remember this one if I'm ever in such a situation. Pretty hard to defend yourself against fraud artists like this. Used to be a time when the boys could get together with some hardwood to help prevent such people from practicing their "craft". Laws are such that these lowlifes have more rights than hard workin folk. Somethings gotta change or it will be time to bring out the hardwood again.

Will keep an eye on the staging areas in my area.

Yea that's a whole different breed of pond-scum; insurance companies. Raise our rates to cover their losses in the stock market then spend millions to get loop-holes created so they don't have to pay out.

I got ripped off for 3200 with a email money transfer for fake canuck tickets last playoff finals. First time using email money transfer, had no idea I wasnt protected. sucks for sure getting ripped off.

This guy is doing this to others in Alberta. A person now had his 1969 Charger stolen from the same guy. Now we have a picture of this guy.

That frigging sucks. Just sold a truck, I was worried so I told him get a bank draft made to my bank and pay off the loan, and my bank can give me a draft for the rest. So I wasn't worried as my bank was able to check it out, and before I filled out the bill of sale they accepted it so if it was bad it would be on them not me. More of a hassle, but nice to be covered.

Other then that cash, or go to the bank together and get a draft.

But if you find that douchebag, make sure he doesn't walk again for a long time!
