I already have five fluorescent light fixtures in my trailer with the old T12 style tubes in them. What are you folks doing as a retrofit to them? using the prebuilt led tubes or just running the led strips inside? Any other options?

The only problem I have had with the led strips is it went across a seam in the tin. Winter the rubber led strip will shrink aprox 1cm and it pulled apart. Simple fix at joints in surface put about a cm pinch/loop in the strip so summer loop winter flat.

Did you guys run 2 separate circuits or just 1? What length strips were you able to find for the lights?

They come with a 3m tape on the back. I would say get the ip67 weather proof strips, comes with a clear rubber gel cover.

You can order them a little cheaper in a "LOT" from alliexpress. Also get the remote kit. Its around 3$. No need for the 12v power supply on vehicles.

Yes 3m tape and they stick really well, just make sure the surface is clean. I bought the 5 meter length ones but if that's to long, you can cut them to the length you want, or you can order clips to lengthen them as well.

I'm not interested in the color changing ones AT ALL, so should I still get the remote kit?

Do you have a battery in your trailer all ready? Furnace? We mounted a fuse block which we powered off the batteries, and ran power from there to a light switch. Not sure what the need is for the remote kit, unless it's a separate power source.

No battery. No furnace. I'll likely just wire them into the existing "lights".
