I own a pioneer 1000 i have tracks for winter are these allowed on your trails

What trails?? You have to be more specific. I have not heard of any trails they are not allowed on myself.

Sorry, new at this, snowmobile trails, I see signs that say snowmobiles only but if there's tracks on the unit would it be ok

No its not going to hurt anything but those that write the rules are about 10 years behind the times. Snowbike, atv/utv on tracks and sleds should all be under the rules IMO.

Good to go IMO.
But that's why I have a lawyer on retainer.

McLean is posted ohv. Cataract is posted snowvehicle. If your reg doesn’t state snowvehicle, you are breaking the rules and in jeopardy of getting the area closed. Not saying it’s right, just a statement.

I`m with the Calgary Snowmobile Club which manages that area. NO TRACKED OHVS. government allows snowbikes but nothing else. Riders know that out there and are proud of their area and will report offenders. CO officers are willing to write tickets more than ever. Save yourself some hassle and head to Mclean Creek. Thanks

I`m with the Calgary Snowmobile Club which manages that area. NO TRACKED OHVS. government allows snowbikes but nothing else. Riders know that out there and are proud of their area and will report offenders. CO officers are willing to write tickets more than ever. Save yourself some hassle and head to Mclean Creek. Thanks

why can't you just respect the rules that are outlined for the area?

Rules are rules, Cataract Creek is Snow Vehicle (Snowmobile and Snowbike's only)...... please do bring your tucker snowcat, I'm sure they would love someone else to come out and do some volunteer time dragging the groomer drag around the trail system.

Some pretty contradictory information here and nothing definitive that states an wheeled OHV converted to a tracked machine aka snow vechile isn't allowed on the trail.

I can see why someone new to.the sport like the OP is confused.

So you take an OHV like a dirt bike and slap a track on it and boom it's good to go.

Take a quad or a UTV and put a track kit on it and it's not good?

Is it because the snowbike self identifies as a snowmobile?

In one part of the website it states that cataract Creek is a snowmobile trail and that only "snow vechiles" are allowed on the trail.

What constitutes a snow vechile?

Where is the definition of a snow vechile on this website?

What is the primary objective of this rule?

What ticket are they gonna write me if I show up with my sxs with tracks?

I think one of the big issues is one clown seeing a tracked sxs (ok imo) out there and figures he is ok to take his sxs with wheels in the same spot. Either way if there is a place that is questionable you are better off finding another spot that is ok for sure. Lots of riding areas in Alberta

I completely agree.
I just don't like when people say you can't do something because of some arbitrary rule which they have no supporting documentation for.........
