now it is you who is misinformed, that is hardly what happened that day

Were you there that day? I am just curious because the person that told me about it was a longtime member of the club. If i have been misinformed i'd love to hear the other side of the story on what happened.

No I was not there that day so I'm not going to get in a pissing match about it with someone else who wasn't there, but the guy from p.g. is someone I know and have ridden with many times and I've heard his side of the story. He certainly did not demand money from albertans for riding a trail that's ridiculous. Yes The p.g. club has its own cabin in Kakwa and you are not allowed to stay there if you are not a member. It cost to much to build and too much to maintain to have it free to the public to get run down so those who built it can't enjoy it. Just the same as not being able to ride the Renshaw if you don't pay for a trail pass.

They cant charge you anything. It's crown land. Does'nt make sense that it is the same price for the short ride in to Belle or Lucille as it is to the Blackwater. There's no work in McBride so they try to rape the sledders. The amount of sledders going in to town spending hard earned coin on all lodging, fuel, parts, food etc is'nt enough I guess. All that cash those home schooled mennonites are collecting is just a huge tax evasion. Cheaper to go to P.G. and pay the one time yearly fee for the snowmobile club. No prices are jacked up in the sledding season and everyone welcome to ride even if not a member. And yes there is cabins and a groomer. Bring on the haters but it really is a scam and a piss off when you are paying to ride groomed trails when they are not groomed. For $20 it should be done daily. Do the math people. Someones making a huge profit and it's not all going towards the sport.

Cool please go ride somewhere else leave the snow for me:d
I like to ride mid week and have been the only truck in the parking lot. $20 don't go far in any vehicle and take a look at what a groomer costs that a whole lot of 20's.
Thanks to all in Mcbride I love coming there and $20 to see Flygirls smile and parking tips is a bargin.

20 for a day pass is a bunch of crap, groom the trail once or twice a week, montana charges a year fee of 50 bucks, and their trails are better than any up here, look at a family wanting to go riding, your prices are simply to high

Probably less of a drive for you to go to Montana anyway, I'm guessing the folks in Valemount and McBride won't miss you and your family. There are ten times the people in the States doing most activities we do up here. Economy of scale usually means that it costs less per individual when more people are involved.

Simple, buy a club membership!

Get the numbers up for solid representation at the land use table, help with volunteering, take on responsibilities, and be a happy camper!

Do all this with a smile on your face, and members don't need trail passes so to speak.....membership has it's rewards!

I was not trying to get into any kind of a pissing match. I was just asking if i had been misinformed to find out the other info. I know like majority of stories there is always two sides to it.

I here yah, I'm taking my 2 kids and wife up to Mcbride for their first mountian ride ever! I was adding it all up and the wife strats to ask what all the costs are.(I usually ride with friends). Three guys splitting the cost make a 2 day trip pretty easy around 100 truck fuel+50 hotel split+100 sled fuel+50 oil+ 40 to 300 at the grizz:d. Most two day trips are about $400 for two days each. Now I take 4 sleds foot the whole bill for family of 4. I'm thinking 2 days ride is going to be about $800-1000 for two days. The 80 for the trail pass's does suck but it is the least of the expenses. I compare it to Ski hill at 75 bucks a head lift ticket hotel cost are more the fuel is the same the rental for equipment is way more than 20 bucks. One trip a year till the kids start to pay their way is about it. I just want to expose them to a sport I love. If they like it they can work and budget to make it happen.

I'll say it again; buy a membership! Family memberships are available and most likely cheaper than trail passes for 3-4 days.

Doo the "due diligence" as I'm sure you will be rewarded.

yes towards that kind of attitude and his way of looking at things I have a bad attitude. just the way it is, and I will admit it in public forum.

Geez you say its a scam that Mcbride is charging a trail pass fee, but its not a scam that that the PG club charges a one time yearly fee. Mcbride has the same thing if you want with a season pass. Not everybody purchases it thou so hence the daily fee. Everywhere that I've rode in B.C, where ever they groom there is a fee. As far as the local businesses raping the sledders last time I was in PG the hotels were a lot more then what they are in Mcbride, Spindrift and Sled den are more reasonable for parts and repairs then the bigger centers and dealers. And don't even start on the people there cause i've seen first hand what that community does for people when something happens. They are great people there. Pay the trail pass, and enjoy the riding, if you want to whine and complain I agree with Barry don't need you there.

10-4 you sure do, sounds like you are a selfish fool, chasing away other peoples' livelyhood in such a close-knit community where only one person benefits from the trail fees, yet the whole town benefits from any amount of tourism that can be attained. sounds like you need to re-arrange your thinking there son.....

The village of Mcbride really doesnt need someone who admits to having a bad attitude representing the village`s tourism. Sure is sad.

So a guy from Prince George (CTWilly) can talk trash about the McBride community and when local people stand up for themselves they're looked on as chasing away sledders and peoples lively hoods!!!! bullch!t!!! This community does nothing but welcome all visitors winter and summer with open arms!! The snowmobile club does its very best to keep sledding alive in the area especially with very limited funds. And yes last time i looked and that was just last weekend ridership is down and to be exact down 45% from last year. But it sure isn't because the people in McBride are "chasing" people away because ridership is down big time in Valemount and Blue River also. And you know what, if a guy like Mr. Willy came on and ch!t on my community i wouldn't give him a warm welcome either!! Higgins.

You don't suppose that ridership in Mcbride and Valemount may be down because actually have snow this year in Alberta and fuel is up over $1.05 a litre?

Your an idiot, I am not representing the village. a personal point to one person that gave a scathing report on our town, did I include anybody else, NO. Unless you would like to take his side as well. Move along

again, my bad attitude was to one person unless you are taking his point of view then i will add one more to the list, and ya if you don't what to pay the trail pass you can join him in not riding here. I don't speak for tourism, just the hard work that we put into keeping our trails and cabins up to par, that by the way does not happen FOR FREE. Money does not just fall out of the frekken sky to make all that happen.
