That would just be on Provincial highways, would it not? Cities and municipalities wouldn't be affected would they?

It could go up 100%, its non issue if you obey the traffic laws. But if your the type that makes their own law cause your better, then i guess your going to pay more.

so you say your never do any of these:

Enter a intersection with a cross walk until after all the pedestrians have cleared the entire road. No one could make a turn in downtown Calgary if everyone followed that one.

Dont exceed the speed limit when passing another vehicle on a single lane road. If you are on any hilly or windy road you are never going to be able to safely pass anyone unless they are going significantly under the speed limit, come up on someone doing 80 in a 100 zone and you will be behind them until the next passing lane, or they get where they are going.

Trying to turn left across traffic, can't enter the intersection until it is safe to actually make the turn. Ticket if you are in the intersection waiting for the light to turn yellow so you can get thru.

Coming to a full stop at stop signs. Properly allow other cars to merge, never stray over the speed limit, always check your vehicle lights all work before you drive off, never stay in the left lane after passing a slower, car on a twinned highway, signal every lane change and turn, make sure you are down to the lowered speed limit in school zone by the start sign, and don't speed up until after the end sign. Along with a endless list of lesser known things you could get a ticket for if some traffic cop is behind on their quota

This is illegal?! My driving instructor taught me (and every other kid in town at the time) to always pull forward when waiting to turn left. I'm sure I did it on both my gdl and full license exams too.

In BC one vehicle may be in the intersection waiting to turn left on the amber. If you are behind that one vehicle in the intersection on an amber light trying to turn left with the person in front of you, you are subject to a ticket.

The cops have been in full force burning people for speeding around here. It is sickening to watch them burn car after car for hours, while im working. They hide out and catch so many people, they must make the government a fortune.

Way back hen I was taught this was indeed illegal. Have read elsewhere that it is considered illegal. I think the cops allow one vehicle waiting, but two I have seen them ticket the second car in the intersection.

makes sense, I've never seen anyone ticketed for it but having only one at a time in the intersection sounds right

Yep, friends son failed his first examine doing this. Problem is that if you can't clear the intersection by the time the light turns red, for example because cars still going thru other way on the yellow , you are going thru a red light. So, it isn't the actual turning, it is the fact that you are not guaranteed to be able to complete the turn while it is still legal to do so.
