Looking to run anti slip drivers on my 03 RMK, going to cut the rest of the windows on the track but its cliped every third lug, would I be okay running like that or should I add more clips?

I did the same on a '04 800 and ported the track. It held up great. Shed abit of weight too. One less hamburger a week would probably have the same if not better results. lol

So a clip every third lug is good enough? the drivers can pull on the rubber fine with no problems?

Yes, it worked fine. The drivers are still using the inside nubs/tits inconjuction with the extro to turn the track. I would do it the same again. If you are concerned, rent a clip tool and clip the entire track.

Once you go to extroverts there are lots of guys who pull all the clips of (to loose weight) and have no problem at all.

Really? what are the purpose of them then, I know they helped in the premature wearing of my sliders, they all have melted plastic on them.

If you have plastic melted on your sliders, I would say you are running abit hot. Do you have any scratchers?

What he said^^^^

Drivers are not relying solely on the extrovert teeth and track windows to drive the track, force is distributed across both inner lugs and the track windows

I agree with eveyone else, when I did mine I talked to Canadian Distributer of Tracks USA, he said every third clipped is no problem. I also ported mine.

I"m putting a 144" x 2" off my 800 onto a 98 - 583. Plan on skid setback and 8" extroverts. Question - best way to cut windows in track?
Thanks

When I did mine I used a hole saw and then cut out the corners with a jig saw with metal blade, work real good.

Take a piece of 1X1 angle iron to the bench grinder and sharpen one end to give you an L shaped chisel. Then Mallet and a block of wood.
