Towing camper with a sled deck

Currently have a 3/4 Chev short box with a 7ft deck. Looking at picking up a small camper to start bringing along. I'll be hauling 2 quads on the deck most times so the deck will be extended open. Would it be too tight with the deck open with a trailer? Also would an equalizer hitch help pull some weight off the rear axle to help keep me closer to legal? Trailer I'm looking at only has about 500lb to tongue weight

I have a dsp weight distrubtion hitch with the longest extension they make (16" does not derate the capacity if used with the bars) and I still need to be carefull not to hit the trailer
If you haven't bought a trailer yet I would look for ones with a longer tongue or where the trailer sweeps back instead of comming forward a bunch before sweeping back

Depends on how far back the front wall of the trailer is. I do it with my 7' deck. Got tons of room to turn

The hitch isn't the longest but the front wall is swept back pretty decent

Was in at allan dale other day and noticed different hitches as well (trailer part) some had about a 6" extension on them resulting in trailer being pushed back 6"...
just a thought in combination with a longer reciever would give you some added breathing room

I'll be test fitting mine this week to see if my deck clears our trailer. Mine is fixed side with a beavertail on my longbox. Trailer has a decently long tongue so I hope it all works.

I hauled two quads on my 7' deck on. A 5.5 box with my 09 f150 8.6' wide. And it hit was at a near full 90 turn though before it did. You could do it but its close and you would need a spotter for turning in close quarters no problem while driving down normal roads though

Yep,I'm on my second trailer and my second deck,only put one hole in the trailer so far.

Punched thru the front window on mine last year. Long box truck, 9' long deck, and no extension on the hitch at the time. Just be cautious and you'll be fine.

6ft box on my megacab and 6 ft deck with sides only partially opened up(4" on each side) and 2 quads on the deck, and punched hole in my travel trailer on a very tight turn..... also previous truck and deck punched holes in buddies sled trailer with side extended fully and 2 sleds on.... was very tight turns, otherwise was fine
