According to FortisBC, our house uses anywhere from 67-95% more gas than equivalent houses (no idea how they figure that out with regards to “equivalent houses”) in the neighbour hood.
A couple of years ago, I was up in the attic installing the vent for a dehumidifier in the garage and I was not impressed with the job that was done. Got a guy coming for an estimate on topping up the ceiling insulation.

Where it would be an advantage is if you had a lot of irrigated land where you had bought low or got free water rights like many did way back in the day your land would new be worth far more than it was maybe even doubling in price.

For the cost of wheel moves or pivots back when rights were $0 your land would automatically be worth $5000/acre more. Pretty impressive return on a watering device that may have cost you $50,000-$100,000 per quarter.

Why didn’t I do that? Because I’m stupid
It is hard to predict the future Ken and what the various levels of government are going to do down the road.
The basic thing is that they all over spend and we the tax payer always had a well for them to go to.
That well is starting to dry up and they will be forced to do things differently.
