Holy Fawk buddy . I'm sorry you are going through all that. Best of luck.
Thanks Mike. This post wasn’t intended to have people sorry for me. Although I appreciate your sentiment. It’s intended more for people that are nearing retirement.
My advice is get a good financial advisor long before you retire and set a plan and make sure that your ch!t is in order

Well I hope that you’re joking about that. Every one of us Hard working Canadians should have a decent retirement.

My Grandfather and uncle died in their 60’s and my Dad was diagnosed with MS in his early 60’s. I told my wife I’m retiring in my 60’s. The only travelling I have done to that point was to SkiDoo dealer meetings once a year for 4 days . 3 of those days were for BRP so phack it. I’m going to enjoy life now. I worked 2 full time jobs for 25 years and one job the rest of the time. Life is to short. My kids will get some money but I’m spending a bunch before I tip over and like Ron says part of that plan is a good financial guy to make my money work for me.

Sorry to hear about all your CRAP. Best thing I ever did was to retire early. We have had a financial advisor for many many years. But last year the guy decided to move on to a different firm. Since we hate change we took along time to decide to either move to a different firm or stay where we are but a different advisor group. We stayed where we were and it certainly worked out for us. The new group has a totally different approach which was a learning curve for us. We get out monthly reports within the first week of each month . I feel after you leave work for the last time it takes time to change into retirement mode. But it certainly is worth it. get your CPP as soon as you can because you paid into it all your working life and the government would love for them not to pay you.
