We have had 3 combines burn up in our county this harvest already. When we had very windy days we parked our combine. Way to many fires start on windy days as chaff blows up into engine compartment onto hot exhaust then collects and starts on fire and drops down onto ground.

Lots of people don't clean the combine everyday either. There is a leaf blower that rides in the one were we help at.

I also made the owner put 3 10lb fire extinguishers on it just in case. I put a 10lb in the grain truck too.

Lots of people don't clean the combine everyday either. There is a leaf blower that rides in the one were we help at.

We had 2 leaf blowers that we would use every night when we were done. Lift all the side panels and start in the back near the engine and clean that first then down both sides at the same time to the header. Took 2 guys maybe 10 minutes and no worries about chaff on hot parts and nice and clean in the morning when doing service. Nothing worse than dust blowing in your face when greasing or adjusting something or blowing around the fuel tank when fueling. Don’t need chaff in the fuel tank.
