Toe Hooks

Just wondering if anyone removed the toe hooks from their sled? I bought my first Polaris last winter and my foot got caught in the toe hooks when the sled rolled over and I wrenched my knee pretty good, I don’t really use the toe hooks so just wondering if anyone else has removed them or installed plates to keep boots from sticking in there? Looks like I could cut them off at the welds but just wondering what other solutions people have found. Thanks!

Nearly everyone in my group with an axys has cut them off just as you're thinking, myself included. No issues whatsoever

Interesting, so you guys are just taking a zip cut to where it meets the frame?

can someone post a pic? I’m always extremely Leary when it comes to cutting stuff haha

Had mine cut and moved up an inch or so on the tunnel side.

Yep .. reciprocating saw to cut the loop off then clean up with flap disk on grinder to remove burrs ...small air grinder is best ...

Ok thanks, I used to run tyraps on my pro to keep my boot from getting stuck…I had always thought of cutting the loops but was under the impression they were structural

Only cut the horizontal loop!

Yes, that is why mine were cut and moved up to maintain structural integrity.

I will check. Boost it did it for me after my foot got caught in it on a roll over. Rag dolled me and broke my foot. Good thing she only rolled one time. Could have been more damage to my self.

slightly confused here, did you cut the horizontal section and weld it back up at an angle?

If you could take a couple pictures when you have a chance that would be much appreciated!

You can see where the original mounting location was below the lower bolt hole where it is attached to the tunnel. Quite a bit more clearance for your boots.

I've seen this & have been involved more than once getting someone off the hill because of a broken foot or ankle. Ski Doo XP's are bad for that, when people install pegs on the G4's I will explain why I think it's a bad idea.

I'm not snert biker or ride with them, broken foot, ankle & legs are common as well. Not sure what goes on when that happens.

Die grinder and flap disk and you can clean it up as much as you want.
