Very interesting points are raised here and I agree with the sentiment, but the fact remains that the US is broke!!! Period. Another undeniable fact that history has shown us time and time again is that empire's never win these religious and ethnic battles.... Ever. Unless the states as a nation is willing to commit complete genocide this will remain an unwinable conflict. a single nation cannot act as world police and security firm for private interests, ie haliburton, at the tax payers expense. Bring your young men and women home. Use your military to enforce homeland security, which would keep all the money spent in the states. Pave a six lane highway to ft Mac for your oil and to hell with them all.
