To much snow under hood.

If it says -10 in mountains its usually 5 degrees cooler at the top

As an ex dealer I can tell you from experience that deep dry snow and -20 temps have been plaguing sleds for years and years. If there is a way, the snow will find its way in. Frozen carbs, steering components froze up, suspension components frozen and air boxes full of snow. I used to hate coming to work on a Monday morning when it was cold. Every call was poor running sled calls. I'd tell them to put some isopropyl in the tank, put it in a warm shop and pop the airbox off and let it melt out then try it. Solved 90% of the time.

If they can factory turbo a two stroke surly they should be able to snow proof a SNOWmobile.

I see Polaris doesn't have a big turbo vent.....

This is after only 1 hour of putting around the farm
Belly pan completely full and froze up the steering boots
Had water flowing out the drain hole

That is wild, I didn't even look under my hood when I got home but it made a lake in the shop.

Really you think everything is coming in side panels? Is your turbo vent still open? This was a legit problem for us in the cold weather can you post a pic of where you taped? I’m pretty sure in normal revy warmth it will be less of an issue but still a pita. . It comes in from the hood. Tape the hood from the edge of the side panel at the shock tower. To the other side. No more snow in my boots after that.

Yes very cold temps -25 to -40 and blower pow.

This was in the air box, no evidence of any damage on hood, these pics are after I thawed out the first pics and went for another 45 minute ride. -24 and super fluffy dry snow.
Frog skins are mint and took apart airbox and no damage what so ever. Throttle side worse. Air valve screen intact under hood and clamp tight to turbo.
At dealer now to confirm WTF.
The frunk doesn’t seal all that well around the edges, and especially near the cluster so added a little foam strip to help seal it.

Ok just to be clear you are taping the underside of the hood, from shock tower to shock tower?

Lots of gaps everywhere.

Curious why you took the shock out and the end of tie rod to change boot. M12 drill with a shortened 3/16 gets in there and done in 10 min
Unless you have a belly pan. Then you die grind bottom river off and replace with #12x 3/4” screw Use a short bit and 1/4” wrench to install it
Ask me how I know lol. Sled came with extreme pan on it

Wow, make sure they take a good look at those pistons.

How do you get the boot off the tie rod if you don't remove it?

The snow was actually coming off the ski tips up onto the headlight, sliding right sideways under the headlight lip into the turbo vent, I doesn’t appear anything was hitting near the front or below shock towers, my right foot well was complete full behind the stock exhaust can and beside the chainkcase with ice as well.
I can’t find any other spot big enough to let near that much in, I did seal up the holes in the shock towers and around the plastics with RTV with 0 km as well.

If a guy wanted to use some radiator hose to make a heat loop in the bottom of the bulk head where would you splice off from, turbo?
