Hey, how difficult is it to change out a stock Nytro tunnel to say a CR??
CR says they need 20 Hours and thats with there guys. Seems like alot of hours with that kind of experience. Would really like to take it on myself. Just for the knowledge/experience. Thanks!!

It is doable in by yourself. But it does take a while. Did mine this summer and it takes alot of time to do it right. Some places were only charging 800 bucks to change out the Nytro tunnel.

Takes time to do it right ;) No reason you have to rush if you do it in off-season yourself. It takes about 20 hrs to do it right with a turbo.

Im not at all a fab/mech but we did two this summer.. no problem.. pretty easy.. rivets are not cheap.. Steve from ratsled sells aircraft for 38 cents i believe.. Twenty hours is high IMO.. I think that i could do one in that time and again im by no means a CR tech..

20 Hrs can be a bit high. But like SLY said, it takes time to do everything right/perfect. Also major factors to think about are if its turbo'd or not. different suspensions take more/less time, Aftermarket seats....CR Tunnel Brackets??? All these variables can play a role in time for install. Generally speaking we do a Nytro basic CR Tunnel install in 12 hours. But it can vary obviously.

Doing another 2 right now. Done a few. They usually take longer than 20 hrs when there are turbos, suspension, exhaust mods etc. Straight re and re probably is 12 hrs but there is rarely a straight re and re. When we do the sleds we would rather eat the extra time than cut the corners. Same with our turbo installs, call me old fashioned but I'm fussy. Nothing leaves our shop that isn't done right. Seen lot's with missing fasteners :(, hacked holes rubbing through charge tubes :nono:(got boost leak), chafing lines and harnesses, rivets rubbing holes through parts and the list goes on:rant:. You want good, clean fresh hay then you expect to pay a fair price. The hay that's been through the cow comes a little cheaper and sorry, we don't sell it, lol:d

ps. I think Chad at CR is pretty fussy too, ask him if he will do a rush one ;)

I changed out the tunnel on my sled this summer, can't tell you how many hours it took, but it did take awhile. I have a MCX Rear mount turbo, I changed the seat, skid, drivers, and a few other odds and ends, the change over could be done fairly quickly if you just taken of stock tunnel and reinstalling aftermarket with no other changes. Anyway I attached the link to my build.

good luck it is a fun project and helps you learn the ins and outs of your sled
