Eco diesel makes no sense to me either way more money than a gaser and HP of a mid nineties half ton. No denying great fuel milage but that's it.

I stopped in at Sherwood Nissan this morning and had a look at the XD on the showroom floor. Its a nice truck and I'm curious to see how they pan out over the next few years but 73k for a 5/8 ton truck is pretty steep IMO. Thats what my 2012 3500 laramie stickered at new. Congrats on the new truck to the OP, nissan generally has a good product. Hopefully it treats you well!

I've heard numbers of 19-23mpg. Not very impressive.

The impression I got is that you should buy this truck if you wanna pay the same as a 3/4 ton diesel but don't want the harsh ride, less payload/towing and easier to park in the city.

I'm a big Nissan supporter but that is a pretty hefty tag. You can get s dodge 1ton really well equipped for that

I paid $64K for my 2015 Longhorn 3/4 ton diesel. The lie meter says about 11-12L/100km so probably about 14L or 20mpg. Hauls 2400ish # and tows almost 18,000# and is equiped with the auto-air ride suspension.
Way way way better than my old Dodge 3/4 ton for ride. If you want a truck to haul and pull real work loads its just gonna have a stiffer setup, sorry.........but the air ride takes a lot of the bumps out of the road.

The smaller diesels have their place in the market but can not put out the workhorse abilities of a full sized truck. They are pricey HD halftons IMO.

Yup. Nissan made it too heavy, too expensive, and without fuel economy even close to it's nearest competition the ecodiesel.
Too bad. I would have liked to have owned one but not for that kind of money that's for sure.

Probably end up in a Canyon or Colorado Diesel before the Titan. Payload is almost the same. And 15g less.
