IMO unless you go bigger you won't need the clutch kit... The info I received when I was looking at rubber, (I went stock size 25" mudlites) 26" would be fine with no clutch kit, but 27" I'd definitely want to go with a clutch kit..
As for what type of tires, there are a wide range of styles and wide range of opinions. ITP has a very diverse line of products. Good luck..

for all around riding i would check out 28" zillas. they come in 14" rims and are a very light tire. no need to run a clutch kit with them. 28's are the perfect size tire for a stock bike IMO.

I would go with something like a 27'' mudbug or zilla, even the vampires not the EDL's but the super swamper vampires I think they are seem like a really nice tire for all around riding.

I have 27" SS Vampires on my Outty 800. They are a pretty good all around tire. Awesome in the mud, not so good in the muskeg. The only problem with them, is they don't have much of a bead gaurd. I have a few nicks and scrapes in my ITP rims because of it. I would highly recommend the Zilla's. I have been with quite a few guys with them, and they are good for everything. Mine are on their way.

If your looking at the zilla's check out the silverbacks! They are lighter than the zillas.

I hope your talking about MUDzillas, as the maxxis zillas are the lightest tire on the market. They don't compare in the mud to silverbacks and outlaws but are very capable. I ride with a guy running 29.5 outlaws on his grizz and I can go through anything he can it just takes me longer to get through.

if you want performance out of what ever you ride i would go with a clutch kit! just mop, but belt life and performance go hand in hand. clutch kits make things much easier on all parts of your ride by making everything work better together. stock or not. just my opinion!

Who carries the zillas in the Edmonton Area as I am looking for something to put on my Outlander 800 and only want to buy tires once! It sounds like these might be a good choice for an all round tire for riding in Alberta.:d
