Tire Slime

Tire Slime, does it work. I have a bead leak on my front tire on the Can-Am only about 100kms on the machine in total, I had the tire removed and resealed but still leaks (very slow leak). I was wondering if the Tire Slim would seal it up or not.........

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would get the tire fixed and the bead should be sealed with bead sealer and it shouldn't leak again..... Over time, tire slime hardens and "balls up" or just sticks to tire in one spot..... It will cause vibrations too, as the "slime" settles due to gravity then when start to drive it, it will take a bit for it to get spread around evenly, and then centrifugal force won't allow it to try and seal the bead as the tire moves..... It's meant more for tire punctures than anything

We've got one pain in the azz tire on our Can Am too, same issue. Our buddy also had one tire on his CanAm that would not fix. Had it off multiple times for repair at the shop, used other methods of sealing...finally took it to one shop that fixed it right and it hasn't been a problem since. We've used tire slime in the past and it didn't work.

alot of tire shops wont touch your tire if you have used the slime. they say it makes to much of a mess and they just dont want to deal with it. we had the same proplem with 26" mud lites ,but after a few times it finally sealed up.

If you decide to use it, When you put the slime in have the wheels off the ground...soon as you put it in let-her-rip to spread it out evenly

Sumimitric, you know of a good tire shop that can help me out. Last thing I want to do is be running the tire and rim back and forth all summer long.

May be a dumb question but are they airing it up enuff to get bead set properly, my XTR's say 35lbs to seat then I ran at 15lbs for a few miles then down to 5. Or use the ether methods that seals good.

Acts like electrical contact cleaner when sprayed on plastic, turns it goey till the contact cleaner dries. Should you need to patch a hole later on in the tire you won't get a patch to stick.

never used this method, looks a little dangerous, how's it done. A short spray into the loose tire and then throw in a match and stand back?

that's not how the slime brand works, it never hardens nor does it contain any harmful or corrosive chemicals that melt rubber. there are tiny polymer fibres in the mixture that jam the hole shut as pressurized air inside the tire forces them into the hole. slime will not dry, or clump together inside the tire, and is water soluble so that it easily washes out. that said, it's only useful for punctures on the tread surface. it won't travel up to the bead unless you have the wheel off and roll it around so it spreads that high, and even then I'm not sure it would plug a bead leak like a puncture. I've used it for a few years, works flawlessly on motorcycle tires and even helps balance them. tire shops love to perpetuate these bad stories about slime, 'cause it costs them money in flat repairs. truth.

I've got two tires that keep leaking at the bead also.I'm gonna try tubes cause I've had them off twice already:cleaned/bead sealer/30lbs for 2 days......yada,yada,yada....they still leak......frustrating
