So just when you thought your T3 was all that and a bag of chips, along comes the new mouse trap! So we're faced with modding to keep pace or trading up and shelling out another 4-5K for the new tech? Over the past 2 seasons many people have asked about mods and bolt on's that can improve on the T3, the common answer was, why would you, they are already awesome out of the box! Well, in one step we're not so awesome anymore, so now that this is so, what can we do to our T3's to keep pace short of turning them into an 872 or turbo beast? What are our best options?

Porting by linderman. Team secondary and p85 primary. 5 mph track speeds just on clutching swap alone. Buddie of mine did this and runs way past stock t3 174 and right with my big bore 174

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
You mention "keep pace."
Do you mean a 163 hp 174" keeping pace with a 165 hp 165" track. Both sleds have the same suspension but one has a shorter track.
No videos of anything outpacing anything. Just skidoo salesmen doing the dance trying to sell sleds.

Thanks

It's not like everyone else on the mountain will be on G4's your t3 will still get around fine. If you need to be the first to the top all the time then get your wallet out and snowcheck one.

Exactly. I still see plenty of XP's and the original Rev's out on the hill. If you really like your current sled and its running good and you have a blast every time you're out then why change ?

Invest some time into the suspension and setting it up right for how you ride. Piss around with the clutching a bit for how you ride. Fuel the thing up and shred the pow.

I don't think it sucks :) I don't even have a T3, I am running a 2.5" track. Love my sled and plan to ride it for years to come. I just figured I would get the info for the race hood as I have had my eye on one for quite a while now. And have been running raptors since the 2013 season, what a great upgrade that was.

Just like to hear what guys have done to improve on their sleds, the crew I've ridden with for years is always trying to one up each other on a daily basis, all part of the fun we have together, I have been down the mod path far too many times to knowingly choose to build a tuning beast but if there are some simple options out there to keep the playing field level, that I would do without hesitation. For me, I just want to avoid full mod and race fuel scenarios, too much of a pain in the neck. It is interesting to read all the hype about the new Doo, many, including independent 3rd party guys praise it's capabilities but your right, they all stop short of video evidence of a new Doo laying a smack down on a T3, will have to prove it to myself next winter and if in the mean time I build in some quiet surprises into my T3 that leave my buds scratching their heads as to what just happened - that's a win for me, all in good fun!

I run a helmet light. Dont have a part number, you cant just get it from any dealer.
I got mine from specialty Sled.

Hood was 800$ Raptors,, call for pricing.

What brand is the hood? BRP? Skinz?

Can it hold up to being rolled over?

BRP, I have almost 100 days with it already this season, and she has been rolled once or twice....

MAXWELL do you run the full slp exhaust ? Just wondering if it really works or if it's all the clutching and the other stuff they want you to do makes the difference.

Mountain Fit Hood was $415 from Menztoys, 12lbs weight loss.
Stock XM hood assembly is ~17 lbs.

Had put the slp pipe on the bb 860 aero charger.. What we seen was a nice weight loss and had to drop one clicker in rpm from performance.. No problems with it so far..

looking for a light weight hood that can take a few rolls and does not need a head light.. For the t3..
