Well I just bought myself a trailer today and will be picking up a used quad likely in the next 2 or 3 days. I've noticed the trailer did not have any tie-down hooks or D rings mounted on the deck so I'm just wondering what everyone is using to tie down their ATVs to the decks of their trailers..... and where to get them that's not overpriced. Thank you in advance

I just drilled 1/2 holes for the tie downs on the side of my trailer. Never trusted stuff attached. I would not do that on a Aluminum trailer though.

Princess auto is where i got mine, they have a selection of D-rings, even recessed ones for pretty cheap. The just ran bolts thru the trailer 2x8 deck boards with big washers or into the steel frame depending where you want them located

I put this SuperTrac tie down system in my trailer. I actually bought 8' lengths and ran 2 rows down the whole length. Every second or third hole hit a steel support. Then you snap in the tie down where ever you want it.

I like the E-track (similar to above), it's cheap at Princess Auto and the little clip on hooks are cheap too, very strong and works great.

I went with E-track on my trailer instead of d-rings. Really glad I did.

Wheel tie downs on e track
X3.
Did this on a flatdeck a buddy and I built. Best way to tie anything down and you can get the d-rings or the ones with a short strap and ring on it for tying other random stuff down.

what i did was something similar to this with the ratchet strap (i used a more heavy duty one than whats shown here) - is this ok? I would install some sort of ring or hook thing on the trailer to tie down to (not just hook on the edge of the trailer

Be careful running straps across the steel corners of the quad or trailer frame. The edge of a piece of flat bar or gusset on the frame will cut a tight strap!

Good enough, I usually use 4 heavier straps though. Some straps from china are pretty weak.

Add 2 tie downs to the front and your set.

Suspension travel on rough roads will not let straps loosen.

I would have d rings or hooks on top of the trailer deck to tie down to.....i eouldnt go over the edge.

And the ratchet straps are 3500lb rated

Just double look at where the straps goes around the tubing on the quad too. Sometimes they are pulling down against an edge the will cut the strap.

If you get to your destination an your strap is gone or your quad moved, try something else!
