It's a US site but it looks as if rather than beefing out at one sector they are trying to gather support against motorsports in general. I'm gonna write them a fact based letter, politically correctly telling him/them that he's a douchebag but that does nothing other than relieving my stress.

I THINK.......

It's about time we put together a petition of our own denouncing the current and proposed restrictions on Motorsports in general None of this internet online sign your name crap, actual paper with signatures. say we connect with 5000 riders and each can get 25 sigs = 125K signatures
say we are agressive and get 7500 riders at 40 sigs each = 300K

I'm gonna draft a generic letter supporting motorsports use on public lands, the letter will be able to be printed off, or write your own if you don't like mine and then approach freinds, neighbors, family, basically anyone who feels cutting down a christmas tree is not murder.... I know I can fill a page in the first few days and in time I could probably come up with 100 signatures.

When a page is filled up or a person has exhausted their resourses then the letters/sigs can be sent to a centeral location/person for safe keeping, probably best if broken down by province or state to make them more useful for specific targets.

I will have the letter drafted by Monday and post it for whoever wants to use it.

Let me know your thoughts, ideas, statistical information ect...

anyone know how many ATV's, UTV's, Sleds, Dirtbikes were sold in any given recent year in the US and in Canada... accurate information like that from accredited sources is useful..

Thanks,

Ian

Well, I don't know how accurate this is, but it sounds like in the states, they sell between 750000 and one million quads a year. That's just atv's. That is in the last five years or so...and it is not completely reliable info. I don't think that it's far off though.

They portray "the whole barrel as rotten" The steroetype and propoganda they use in this video and website is absolutly sickening. I guarentee they include playing in the mountain bowl as "off trail use" of course it is there is a trail going up the mountain, then after than nothing. If you need anyhelp writing this letter and researching the topic Bogger Sign me up.

LMAO..Thrillcraft. What is the difference between building las vegas or riding in the desert next to it? Absolutely nothing.. This video is rediculous! Oil companies build roads all the time..how much destrucion is that. Or how about clear cutting whole sections of rain forest or any forest for that matter? This "thrillcraft" problem is a joke. How is it any worse than building a highway or causing an oilspill? How about sports teams flying pretty much around the world weekly, and for what? To bring entertainment to us? Eventually the earth is going to run out of resourses because of our neglect and our addiction to entertainment. When that time comes, I'm sure they'll be pointing fingers at the "THRILLCRAFT riders" lmao...what a joke.:rant::rant:

I'll work on it over the weekend.... Any chance we have any members on here who practice law? I'll have it looked at by a lawyer prior to distribution just to be safe..... I'd hate to take a running start just to find out that due to a technicality it is inadmissable. I'd kinda like to see it be a starting point for general support of the sports we love. Over time it could become a huge list of supporters.

Gist of it will be "As taxpayers we have the right to access public lands and waters unless it can be proven that immediate and irepairable damage to a location or immediate and imminent danger to life" too often we find ourselves Guilty until proven innocent as opposed to how it should be.

The greenies will state that ATV's destroy the natural environment and wetlands..... I have pics of HHA in fall after a summer of hard riding and bogs which one would/could realistically assume have been destroyed by ATV's BUT this spring I will get spring pics prior to riding of how quickly the same area can naturally restore itslef.......

Like I said I'll have a draft by monday for review and feedback.... I want it to be short and to the point so it can be read quickly as well as factually accurate.

I like how it doesn't point out that there are more street only car's that emite probably tons more of polution commuting to work DAILY then "Thrillcrafters" Having fun.

Sledding alone is a 27 billion dollar industry, Good luck shutting that down. It says that sleds are some big carbon emiting bombs. Like wtf?

Im with you bogger! Thrillcrafters, UNITE!

Talk about stereotyping.... You could take almost any interest group and depict what they are doing as horrible... There are bad apples in any bunch..

I'll follow this thread to see if I can help...

Hey Junior, can you reference the 27 billion to a legitimate source????

We are an easy target because we are a comparative minority. They can't go after shutting down highway traffic because 99% of the population is advantaged by it. realistically the # of people opposed to rec. vehicle use is much lower than the # of supporters, problem is they are vocal and while we are out riding they are sitting at thier computers trying to devise schemes to save the world.... Scientists even question whether CO2 & CO is a factor in global warming if it even exists.

Anything can be factually supported or denied if the right facts are presented AND others are left out.......Just sayin

I thought it was kinda funny they said that the typical "Thrillrider" is college educated and makes upward of $60k a year. Yes we are terrible, we work and are educated. What are they, unemployed welfare cases?
