It is a battle we'll have to actively fight until the end of time. Environmental groups have had the ear of the people for decades and "appear", to the non-discerning listener, to be acting in our best interests. Now it's up to us to convince all those who have been brainwashed - it's a formidable challenge since, to them, we ARE the selfish, spoiled "bad guys" and are only trying to protect our recreational activity. We also need to be diligent about leading by example and letting our peers know that irresponsible OHV use is unacceptable. We need to tell our story to anyone who will listen and impress on them that this is not just affecting OHV use but hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, industry, and any other back country activity. Show them a map of the Eastern slopes along Albeta and point out how much is already protected.

- Join a club
- Talk to as many as people as possible about these troubling days for recreational use in the mountains. These do not need to be OHV users, but mothers, fathers, kids, friends, environmentalists.
- Encourage responsible OHV use
- Get engaged

Something has been takin out of context. 98% of first quads that ever came out went to backcountry Anglers and Hunters so they could get into the "Back Country". Can't see them all of a sudden saying that it is okay we will just walk 10 or even 5 miles on foot. Heck we can't even walk across our own acreages or to the corner store. Something smells fishy. Lol

Hate to say this but, the vast population of Alberta are non motorized. So think about that for a second, awhile 20% of the motorized users give us a bad name. Just saying.

Check out where the majority of your provincial population lives. Just like
the most of Canada. It's in city's and it's getting worse.

in the next 20 years expect big changes, and on top of that, expect the muslims to start leading the country.

Don't get your panties in a knot, 80% of Albertans are non-smokers and that is still allowed.

A little different. The 80% of non-smokers aren't being told that if we continue to allow smoking, there'll be no clean drinking water in many areas of Alberta.

Greenies are organized AND government backed, and are winning the conflict.....

Which is why it is especially important for every one of us to take some part in fighting them. Maybe if every one of us makes it our mission to persuade at least one person every month or two?

Who the fook answers these "Polls" anyway? Those numbers seemed a little misconstrued. How about some real world numbers on how many people they called vs how many people hung up on them and some demographic info? I wouldn't worry too much about this BS article.

That's right, but quite frankly no matter how much we yell and voice our opinion the current government has little interest in listening to us. The biggest thing we can do is support a government that will continue to allow sustainable ohv use.

I think the ndp war machine on us will slow however, they will have to appear to be more moderate in the next year to have any chance at winning the next election. They will focus more in the next year on trying to claim they helped healthcare, education and the economy so as to gain a second term, at which point we can punt them out of office.

Who answers them? Obviously not enough OHV users....

Just like any poll, its subjective to its audience. Release a poll that targets a group who are opposed to a various activity and get biased one sided responses. If they polled the users of this forum it would be skewed the other way.

In a recent post we asked the question do you feel that as a hunter/angler you were represented by the group that had a direct seat at the table with the AEP for recent public land use policies. Surprisingly, the least interest in this post were the hunting groups.
Nonetheless, this post:

Has received immense traction by hunters and anglers in other groups, spawning tons of comments, and further insight.
Please take the time to check out these follow up links. Join the discussion, join the coalition, and share this with hunters and anglers, and anyone you know that recreates on public land.
