I tried to book my XM in for an end of warranty inspection, dealer said no. That was at a shitty dealer however

Warranty doesn’t cover inspections for peace of mind. The dealer can do an inspection for you but it’s pay to play

And why should they?
I'm saying is if something is only half phuked they're gonna tell you to pound sand.
I do think it is reasonable to take your sled in and pay for an inspection and have them address anything they find that is covered under warranty.

the skidoo police will deny the warranty claim for preventative maintenance. You only have a couple months and there off the hook!

Warranty these days is like your tailgate. once its up, the jobs done!

That and hope the dealer tells you what's wrong and fixes it under warranty instead of just waiting for it to break after warranty to charge you more than book hours and parts markup

Ohh absolutely, I told them I would pay, I also wanted the crank phase checked and to make sure the pistons and pots where still in spec, got told to pound sand.

Not a good shop then if they won’t take your money

well the shop i took it too seems to be a good one. I told them i was hearing a loud "pop" a few times on my last 2 rides last year and asked them about the reeds. Said they can check them but if they are fine then warranty wont cover them checking them.

I dont know if they were really bad or if they just said they were but reeds replaced on skidoos dime. Didnt have them check my rave valves but am happy that my reeds were covered.
