I read a thread here some where but I can’t find it but it was regarding what to wear riding as far as thermal wear, at the time I couldn’t remember the name of the stuff I was using but I just found it at Walmart again it’s called Athletic Works it works great to keep you worm but dry it wicks away sweat and keeps you nice and dry when working you butt off. I have been using it working in the Arctic for years now I would wear it under my H/H when it was really cold but for sledding it’s excellent and the best part it costs $10 for the tops and $13 for the long johns . I’ve had lots of times where my outer shirt was soaked from sweat but I felt completely dry.;);)

Marks stuff is 100% polyester. Polyester wicks away moisture.

Polyester doesn't wick away moisture... it just doesn't hold it like cotton does. Polyester stays wet inside next to your skin and outside. It soaks through but dries quicker than cotton. Good tip on he Wal Mart stuff, if it really does wick. I personally like the base layer stuff from Costco. $40 bucks for top and bottom set. HH and Under Armor Cold weather are too rich for my cheap A$$ too. Unbelievable what a difference a good wicking base layer makes:beer:

The stuff from Wally's world works just like under armour and as was stated is cheap! Me and the wife use it and LOVE it.

Thats strange... all the sites and stores I have visited claim base layers need to wick away moisture and polyester is the best material for wicking away moisture.
So what are these great Costco items made of?

:ignore: You're right! I was wrong. The stuff from Costco is 90% Polyester and Spandex. Must be the way it's woven that creates the wicking effect. I stand corrected:surrender: Why then if most base layers are made of Polyester are some so much better than others...and so much more money.
