Question...
thinking of getting one of these to put on my truck. Would it be easy to remove? Never seen one in person. Overkill? Just getting nervous with all the recent thefts all over.

I see them on job sites that trades are leaving their trailers at, very few are stolen. And more and more trades are buying them. I have considered them as well at one point, but then I went and bought "The Club".
I think any honest effort of theft prevention, is a good idea.

remembering to remove that would be my issue. I tend to forget stuff. Always figured if they want what you got bad enough, they'll get it. Just imagine -40, patience would be thin installing and removing it. Best way to stop a thief, a bullet.

I was looking for a convenient way to protect my truck as well. I know insurance will cover stuff but that doesn't help me at 7am at a hotel parking lot in revelstoke. I found this online and thought it might be an easy way to ensure your truck is still there. May still have to rent a sled!

If you are going to be leaving your stuff in parking lots ( what choice do you really have ) whatever steps you take may save your stuff.
Thieves are lazy, they will take the easiest pickings. If the guy parked beside you doesn't have anything protecting his stuff they'll take it first.

Remembering/forgetting…! Ice scratchers in reverse or leaving them down as you load onto/into the trailer...

I have one of those trimax locks for my trailer. They work ok, but are a pain sometimes to put on and take off.,

How are these people bypassing the coded keys in these newer trucks?

I have one I use on my quad when out random camping and such easy to put on and off make the peeps mov on to another one....My brother in law uses and motion sensor alarm on the truck the second someone steps onto the trailer when hooked to the truck shakes truck and set off alarm

before the wheel lock I used to use a similar to one of these as a ghetto alarm on the quad think it was $15 hook it to under carriage of the quad and to the camper with fishing line with leaders at both ends with a about a foot of slack you could roll it a foot and it would pull the pin that sumbitch would wake you in a hurry maybe you could come up with your ghetto alarm

I personally have this particular track stabilizer attachment, otherwise known as...a log
Just stick an old Skidoo citation on there and no-one will take it, unless they have a citation fetish...or need parts. Lol

That's sort of what my Ford dealer said to me and then added it was a fool proof system. I just said to him, "you better doo some reading and get caught up on the world of the thieves!"

There is a thread by JaredZacharas (sp) in Tow Vehicles about stolen trucks in Pincher Creek. Seems the thieves are pretty educated and technologically savy with computers and chit. The PATS system is good to deter the little scum bag thief but not the professional thief.

Blackfoot Motorsports has big, honkin' motorcycle motion alarm locks (or they can get them) and wicked chains. I wrap a 4' octagonal chain with 5/8" links around the spindles that will discourage most thieves and then attach the motion pad lock.

So now all I have to worry about is losing the whole she-bang is it is probably easier to steal the F350 than the sleds. I have the SPOT Trace that I will be installing and that will sense the motion and send a message to my phone and I will have the loudest, ugliest ring tone for that call!

Yup, depends on which vehicle you have, if i had a ford of any type, i would put an aftermarket alarm system in it, that can also disable the vehicle if attempted to start during a b&e into the vehicle....
