Socialist drivel, it's a slippery slope. Where is the line? Eating fat food? Jobs that are high risk? Anything other than the "ideal lifestyle" as mandated by a politician or some unelected bureaucrat? Sledding? Biking? Hockey? All carry risk vs. Hiding in your house trying to save the taxpayers some cash. If you want to save taxpayers money. There are better ways, like quit paying the heads of provincial health boards more than the PM

People get hurt at work all the time because they don't follow established safety protocols. Then they scream at the top of their lungs when WCB denies them coverage. Why should many have to pay for the stupidity of the few ?

So if you break your neck from using a helmet you should have to flip the bill

Its mandatory to wear a helmet on a street bike, seat belt in an car. most atv's and utv's nowadays are capable of hwy speeds so why not have a mandatory helmet law. it only makes sense. What i don't agree with is according to the article they want to enforce the laws on private property, if i want to hop on my quad and ride around the back of my property butt azz naked ( not that i ever would) aint nobody gonna tell me no. private land is yours no insurance, no registration, no mandatory helmet to check cattle. Next there gonna tell me i can't have a beer and mow my grass.

Pretty sure they cannot come onto your private land to give you a ticket for not wearing a helmet (or maybe no clothes like you mentioned) regardless of what the article says.

When I go sledding I have a 1000$ helmet on, chest protector, knee braces, neck brace, stiff "race" boots, gloves, goggles plus my avy gear.....

If you want to ride around on a 800LBS quad in a fawkin ball cap, I don't care. Don't have any brains in your head anyway....lol

I can tell you don't care, good for you it is your choice. Just be aware if you wear a helmet get the dam neck brace. Not just the helmet.

Well they pass laws bring in helmets and most people are not told the increased risks for neck injuries. As long as the do-gooder's get "their" agendas past. Lets stop passing stupid laws. If you are motox rider there is not enough gear you can wear ask Morgan.

I don't think they need a law, but I think if you ride without a helmet you're stupid. Have you ever looked at a nice helmet before?

Like I said don't get the cheapest, heaviest one you can find and you'll have no neck issues.

Yes Moto X is very dangerous, I have spent a lot of time in the hospital and have had many surgeries on the tax payers dime.

Although I do pay lots of $ in tax's,,, so I think they still owe me some services.

Most of these crazy infringement laws the NDP are bent on passing will be tossed out along with them next election. Sadly this costs the taxpayers a lot of $$$ though...
such is the NDP way ..,,

Trudeau is twice as bad at passing dumb laws than knothead is. And with billions of taxpayers dollars going as bride money to the CBC ....telling dumb people that Trudeau is the best choice. Now I see the importance of owning the Media.

So you're more worried about a neck injury that may or may not happen from using a helmet or a garunteed brain injury from not wearing one? ??? Good logic....

I broke my neck 25 years ago, had a helmet on and it was cracked in half. Without it i would most likely be dead or in a coma. I healed up and enjoy life.
10 years ago I broke another moto helmet dh mountain bike racing No neck injury but would have again died or been in a coma without it.
To compare Blair morgan to average joe riding a quad is apples and oranges. Blair knew the risks and pushed the limits.

I am more worried about people telling other people what to do. Just plain wrong. As far as.. my ..helmet goes it the second safest for putting less strain on your neck in an impact. But it is not tested like the first place helmet which the outer membrane moves. Mine is the lightest helmet of all, but I will not be telling anyone what I have done or what I have. People are not aware of this problem and should be. 44% of atv injuries involve upper torso injuries... 12% is head. Lets pass helmet laws, instead of chest protectors. I got told last year about helmets on the trail, I pulled that same guy out of a deactivation he forgot about because he was drinking. He had lots of injuries and apparently ambulances do not go off highway...you learn something new everyday.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont these new rules only apply to crown land? I'm not into controlling the masses but most people are idiots and most laws are created to protect and save them. I think the majority of people that have issues with the law changes are the more experienced riders who actually tend to wear the proper safety gear anyway. If it is a no brainer to wear a helmet on a sled, why not a quad? Do we not make our kids wear helmets when biking and quading?

The problem of making things "idiot-proof" is the inevitable evolution of the idiot.....
