I dont want to spend the money on an extension, but was thinking about making a support that clipped on to the rear bar after I load the sled.

Load the sled, kick the rear end to the middle, clip on the support and move the sled back over to it. Anyone ever done this?

We have been doing this for the past 4yrs. See the pictures, it's a great option to go with.

I believe the Marathon has a channel that the rear loading bar tubes weld into. I would suggest making/purchasing a U channel material and having it slide over the rear loading bar and having each ear of the material slide into the channel on the deck, then a simple pin will stop it from pulling out, and the ears will stop it from rotating and the u channel will take the up and down load.

What is the distance from the top of the back leg cross member to the bottom of the ramp when stored? I use Rubber Maid tubs and "Action Packers" to store chains, safety gear etc.

Our decks are height adjustable so they can range from 12" to 20" height between the bar and the ramp, which gives you 14"- 22" once passed the bar. Or you can go with our dual stacking ramp system without the slide out tray and that will give you 19"-27" height clearance on half the box.

I have a hard plastic case that I keep tools, oil, etc. in that I take on every trip and there's just enough clearance to slide it in. I also have an Ogio 9900 gear bag that would not fit in there if I had 2" less clearance. Plus I have to carry different sized freight for work as my deck stays all winter and I wouldn't want to limit myself there either.

I understand I could raise the deck up higher, but then you lose the security of not being able to reach into the box, make the ramp angle steeper and give yourself an even higher center of gravity. Too many negatives for me anyway.

This years design has sides that come down lower so the raising of the deck for security is not an issue, even with the 2" height lift it would have less room then our last years decks on sides. Our deck height is also lower then last years there for the center of gravity and steeper angle is a none issue. Also for work and carrying large items typically our customers remove the ramp during the week to have optimal room. Again we do appreciate your feedback.

We offer a sliding tray for under our decks. So for guys who have the sliding trays already they can sell them and put the money towards the deck, and for guys who don't have a tray it is an option for them.

Has anyone made their own sliding tray for underneath? Picked up an X Deck a while ago and dont want to be crawling inside the box for things in the back.

Finally made an extension for my deck. I will put a piece of plywood on it, than test at Xmas when I got sledding.

That worked out well, nice and simple and easy to store. That's why we liked that design. Good Job!
