Well myself and my entire family along with 5 other cars/truck cheated death yesterday. Some stupid, idiot, retarded, moron girl darted into our oncoming lane with her phone in her face. I was pulling a 7500# travel trailer with my 3500, I had was heading for the ditch when she luckly sent her message and got back to driving. she had 2 cars, a truck then a semi behind her, all in a row. This would have been the end for someone!

I just dont understand people who think they can do this while driving. IMO if you are texting while driving, only a matter of time before you kill some one. When is this going to stop?:rant::rant:

As much as I don't agree with drinking and driving, I would be willing to bet that drunk guy pays more attention than text&drive guy! I see the texters all the time with 3 car lengths between the next at the lights. Doing my duty to honk at every one I see.:nono::nono:

some people can text/drive/eat and watch a movie better than some people can drive period.

not saying its right but some people just shouldnt multitask in the vehicle.

All handheld devices, (Cellphones, etc) have been banned here in BC. It hasn't seemed to make a difference. I still see them in use everyday.:nono:

Banning talking on the phone does nothing. The idiots will just eat, do their make up, or anything else to take their attention off the road. The scariest part is, it seems to be some of the worst drivers doing it to begin with.

As far as your situation, if a car swirved into my lane and I had a trailer behind, I wouldn't even consider the ditch unless it was flat. Sad to say but you got to think of yourself first, especially considering THEY are the one not paying attention.

It would help if the laws got strict on it, not paying attention and almost causing a accident like the OP said, $1000 fine and loose lisence for a year, I think it would fix the problem real quick!

Don't ban the cell phones, etc, ban the idiots from being themselves....

Not sure how you would plow through that one?

We were south of Vulcan, nice flat ditches plus no fences, just fresh seeded felid. So it was a no brainer, with my 10 mounth old in the back seat.

Flat ditches are fine for sure but going into the ditch in a steep spot your 100x better off staying on the road, especially being in a much bigger and higher vehicle.

Her car I was not worried about plowing through it was the other 2 cars,1 truck "granted it was a ford, not much there" then the semi with a b-train...I think I would loss!
But I hear ya! If I could have used her for traction and keep going I would have!
