Pistonbroke (Cale) and I were lucky enough to get in with Teth-Air Cordless Tethers and have a prototype installed on each of our sleds. Too bad we won't be able to try it out until winter! :i_need_snow:

I wonder if they will let me use this system at the Eckville grass drags???

My sled is famous!!

That looks ( or doesn't... ) rad.

As far as testing, could you not fire up the sled and walk away from it?

Absolutely, and it works perfectly in this scenario. AJ20 I think was referring more to real-world mountain testing in the steep and deep!

Real neat system, and these guys have been great to work with! :d

Correct! If your tag isn't near the sled, it won't run. Good for keeping yahoo buddies in check who just wanna "go for a quick rip ;)"

Anyone who gets on your sled to go "for a quick rip" should be getting a punch in the face when they get back from their little ride.

Unless I offer...........no one rides my sled. :)

4 non-negotiable rules to satisfy first:

1) life insurance must be paid in full, in good standing and cannot be voided by this activity
2) need to sign the waiver saying your widow won't sue me
3) have to want your arms to be 1" longer than current length
4) have to let me film it

:D

Let me get it running for the season first, then we can talk about you riding it.

:)

I have an honest question for you or AJ about the system (now that the thread hijack is over :D). The unit you wear (wrist strap transmitter I think?) is battery operated. If there is a malfunction with that unit (stops sending signal somehow - i.e. dead battery in transmitter, you bash your wrist on the bars and break it, etc ) and you don't have a spare battery or transmitter, how easy is the unit to disconnect to make the sled run?

I see some wire clips etc in the photos on the webpage, just wondering how easy it is to completely disconnect the unit so that the sled would run again (assuming no stock parts are removed or bypassed in this system that are required to allow the sled to run without it).

That'd be a tough balance to reach: not so easy that it's useless as a theft deterrent vs. easy enough to bypass if your transmitter fails...

I discussed this with the inventor on snowest...
I cut my tether short so if I ever fall off it cuts out...some tethers are so long you could be under your machine and it will still be running. If your in a failed tight chute many times you rock and roll with your sled for some distance. I dont want my sled's track spinning at 50 mph then!!!
So if my arm is within the transmitting distance me and the meat grinder are at issue.....What is the shortest distance it can be set for?

Yes, you can bypass the system if you like, quite easy! Just disconnect the 12V input to it and it's gone out of the circuit, and you 're back to stock. Battery in the wrist unit is reported to be good for an entire sledding season (always active).

Good question! The range is adjustable, but I don't know the ultimate shortest possible. If you manage to get your body between the wrist band and the sled, that cuts the range quickly, hopefully killing the sled if you are inadvertently humping rocks/trees/sled coming down a chute.:d
