think I am going to try it and tell our current provider to stuff his crap. One thing is to have poor signal/ buffering and another extremely poor service. I assume with Telus you call and have a chance to get something done compared to my current provider. Tks for all the input!

How's it working

We've had ours all over the province and it works fine.Don't think we've been charged any extra. It doesn't work in Sask though.
have you done that? I wanted to take my telus smart hub camping but was told we'd be penalized for using it anywhere other than home.

Our smart hub was good this winter, now on weekends when all the tourists are visiting it is very slow.

They limited how many in our area, as I know others tried to get one and telus said there full in the area

Ours still seems good, still have 3 watching Netflix all at same time so...

Make sure you get the battery for it so if Power goes out, it works still for 3-4 hours

Hi Tom,

Funny you should ask as I called them on Tues in a follow up from two weeks ago as I find it very slow pretty often. I bought one just for the lake in Salmon Arm and according to Telus they realize the speeds slow in the summer simply due to the excess demand from tourists etc. So, they are going to upgrade the tower but they could not give me a time frame other than sooner than later. Otherwise it has been working great before end of June.

How's it working

We got one, works great.
100mb no problem.
Mine tested at max 4.5mbps and low of 0.35 last weekend. I also couldn't find a parking space downtown.... or at the beach and my favorite beers were sold out!

We take ours camping and road trips all the time. As long as there is Telus cell service you are good. Worked on trip to Kelowna too other than the dead zone of no service between Jasper and valemount.

Yeah you should be screen shotting that and complaining to Telus on a daily basis.

You paid for LTE speeds -- you should get LTE speeds. It's in your contract.

I’ve had one for about a year. No problems with speed. Still a lot better than xplorenet.

Had ours for a year and a half or so, when we first got it we had speeds of 40 plus, it was awesome. They just keep getting slower and slower, last night I was under 1-mbps for a lot of the evening. Some days I'm as high as 14, mostly around 7 to 10, but the afternoons and evenings are brutal!!

ours averaged last weekend at 0.82 mbps. Then Monday afternoon when the tourist headed home is was way up at 27.2. Crazy difference.

cant imagine looking back at my youth and say "yup I had a great summer in my dark basement playing video games". What a waste of opportunity to be a kid and play outside or hang out with friends at the local swimming hole.

Wife was on the phone for an hr, and customer service says they can't garuntee speed. Said they need to do a study to see if more data is needed. Lol

2 of my buddies work for Telus in town and do many service calls a week each for slow service. All due to to not enough service available.

Funny how the corporate office doesn't know what field offices are having issues with....

Really the only way to get any action out of the carrier's when you have an issue is to send a quick email to the CRTC.

They put foot to ass.
