Guys I need some quick advice.

We moved into a new "temporary" digs this week while our house is getting rebuilt and reno'ed. Have Shaw internet/cable at this place - and of course all the new boxes are not compatible with my old 10 year DLP TV.

The kids have been without TV for a week and are driving me crazy. Plus - I was going to buy a new TV anyway for when the renos were done.

I am going to get a 55 - 60". What do I buy - LCD, LED or Plasma? Prices aren't bad - I think I paid close to $7,000 for my old 42" DLP in the day

Help

LCD's have been around awhile with no problems. Plasma's have issues especially with larger units due to heat generation.
My personal fav. is the Sharp Aquos. I have three of them and have never had a prob. Good luck with your purchase.
Before you take it home though inspect the screen. Have heard of guys getting their prize home only to find screen damage and the manufacturer saying its your fault when picking up installing etc.

Go to Costco, grab whatever is on sale, there is no 'high-quality' products anymore...

They are all about equal, some have better pics, Costco has them all running, stand in the aisle, pick the one that looks best to you...

Plasma, LCD, LED, does it really matter? Even the sales people dont understand the difference between them all...

A couple of weeks ago, I bought another Samsung Plasma. Panasonic would be my first choice, but cost was too high to get the same features as the Samsung. USB input for videos or pictures that are on a stick, wired ethernet for media on the computers at home, and an option for wireless ethernet too. VGA input, 4 HDMI's, 1080p capable on all HDMI and Component Video Inputs, Picture in Picture, and more. 50" for $730 at Direct Buy. No complaints so far.
