Well it is that time of the year to start clearing thetrails and hopefully prepare for a full winter of sledding.
Here is a heads up for our proposed Trail Maintenanceschedule

November
We will be starting our Trail Maintenance on SaturdayNovember 4
And on the following Saturdays and Sundays in November

Sat 11 & Sun 12
Sun 19
Sun 26

If you would like to volunteer please call Brian at780-990-9339 or reply to this email so we can plan for the size of group wehave and which trails to start clearing
TCSC will be buying breakfast as usual at Looma EssoRestaurant on hiway 21 for all trail maintenance crews

Now this is tentative as trail maintenance is weatherdependant
With the bad winds this year we do have a lot of blow downson the trails so will need a lot of volunteers this year.

I will be sending out trail Maintenance notices onWednesdays in November for the upcoming weekend
That way we know what the weather will be like and is easierfor you to pick a sat or sun to help as it is closer to the weekend and we canbetter plan which trails to clear.

Friday December 1 – we are hopeful to have our 6” of snowand then Ministik will open
But again the gate to Ministik are controlled by AlbertaEnvironmental Sustainable Resources Department (AESRD)

We used both sleds and quads last weekend
There was about 6" snow - 0 base - but you are on grass most the time

Trail Maintenance - Saturday November 4, 2017

Cold -19 at staging area and fog, day time high -9

Thanks to all the guys that came out today
We were able to clear the whole North section of trails today
5 chainsaws running most all day - one hell of a lot of big trees down on trails
used about 5 ltrs mix gas in chain saws

Cold -13 at staging area, day time high -6, light snow, 6"on ground

Thanks to all the guys that came out today
We were able to clear the whole EAST section of trails today
3 chainsaws running most all day - not as bad as Saturday but still a lot of big trees down on trails

Nice -8 at staging area, day time high -1, fog turn clear skies 6"on ground

Thanks to all the guys that came out today
We were able to clear the whole South West section of trails today
5 chainsaws running most all day - a lot of big trees were down on trails
lakes and ground are not frozen at all - snow is insulating the ground.

Did that for years in Ministik with the snow Angels. Now doing same thing down south in Cataract Creek Snow Vehicle area. Got to love trees until they fall across your trail.
Keep up the good work Tri County. Maybe you will have a full grooming program this year
