ya the avy-death over the weekend was back in corbin somewhere.....

that bar that the wires go to is a resistor .... i think its a single element bulb and the block makes it so the tail light and brake work off the same element
Yep but the dash light for the brake stays on now

Forgot to ask LBZ, did you swap out your track and skid? Where did you get your extension? Do you have any cooling issues?

Lbz and I did it at my place...

151 rails with an ext... 162 kitty track

Think he got the tunnel part from absolute power in eddy-st Albert...

Lots of work and Friggn riviots

Oh and his flap helps with cooling.

Oh and we used his stock 144 cooler.

Tex pretty much summed it up for me. It was alot of work but worth it. I just wish I could have spent the money when I did it and put a camo extreme 2.5" track on instead of that POS 15" wide Attack 20. Oh well the price was right!!
I also did the thermostat delete when I put new pistons in the engine so that might help with cooling but with that snowflap and scratchers on the hardpack, I've never seen much above 130 on my gauge. It was originally a 144" sled and I didn't touch the cooler so was a little surprised I didn't have any issues.

The skid is from a 151" '07 800R and I made the extension kit for it to fit the 162" track using another extension I have as a template. The aluminum was cut by Accuform in Red Deer and all said and done I was into it for about $200. The one I still have kicking around was for a 156" track and not quite long enough for what I wanted. I also went to a 2 wheel kit which is also home made with 8" fabcraft wheels. So far I've put a 1000 miles on this set-up with no issues!!

Sound pretty sweet. Are there any pics on snow and mud? I am pondering real hard about a 163 under my 05, but I was so happy with it last ride I dont want to mess with it. I just did the top end and and WOW what a different sled. A guy posted on my question on dootalk and said I need a diode to make the lights work

No pics of it anywhere really. I will have to get some someday. I haven't been out riding on a bluebird day to take pics but one time since I did the swap!!
A forward biased diode may be the answer to your problem. Makes sense to me! Give it a whirl and report back!

Do you know anything about diodes? All I know about electrical is you put the switch up and the light goes on and put it down for the lights to go off..lol
