I am still running the standard oil but have been thinking of switching to synthetic. My buddy told me to use amsoil, but I don't think it is used regularly at shops. yes I jut get my oil changed at the local quick lube pennzoil place in town. They have awesome service and are fast.

What do you all use? I image one synthetic is just as good as another (name brand anyway)

Im my vehicle I run regular ol' 5/30. In our quads we run Sonic 4 Stroke SL. Very happy no problems :) I know allot of peeps are using Sonic XLS in their sleds but have never had any complaints about the regular Sonic dynamix. It's a personal choice...like brands of tampons :)

Oh hell I meant in my pickup truck not sled, my bad. I just run the normal stuff from skidoo. So far after 6 years no issues but I don't ride as much as I would like to.

I'll post a link for an independent study done in Alberta on oils. Amsoil is at the top on most of the study's. Some are even shocked reading them as some oils that were thought to be good are proven not to be. even though im an Amsoil dealer Im non bias when it comes to oil. I recently was challenged on the oil compared to motil and we are both suprised at the result

Are there any "quick lube" places that use amsoil? I think some Lube-X places do maybe.

Even the cheapest oil out there has a API rating of sn . The s means gas (go figure) and the second letter is the rating. A B C and down the alphabet to the best being n . So if you come across any saying (so) rating buy it... it will be the best. Happy sticker shopping.

I run a synthetic blend conoco oil in my 2001 chevy since thats what the owner before me ran. No problems in 134,500 miles and usually just change it like it tells ya in the manual...... when the change oil light comes on (usually 6000 miles). I know most of you are gonna say thats crazy but the computer monitors the RPM and time etc. Sounds crazy but hasnt treated me bad. I figure if the owner before me ran it like this and had "zero" trouble why fix what aint broke?

My dad runs straight 5w-30 John Deere oil in his pickup which is a 1991 with over 200,000 miles on it and no engine trouble it's whole life and it doesnt leak a drop. It runs EVERYDAY on the farm and gets the pizz drove out of it. he changes it every 2000 miles.

Good oil ISNT cheap.

have run UFA (now shell) 5w30 in my pickup since she rolled out of the factory. faithfully changed oil and filter every 5000km. now has 350 000. does not burn or leak a drop. father has an 03 duramax on the farm.. used to change it based on when the light came on but one day it came on 1000km after an oil change. now its just on a km basis not the stupid computer.

Maybe this is out dated or maybe not but this oil only made a sl rating. That would be ok 10 years back
