swaping magnetos anyone ever try

the sled is a 2001 summit 600, the engine is a 2003 rev 600ho different wiring from crank can i swap out magnetos? or would that effect the timing?

heres the deal, 2001 summit 600 put in a 2003 rev 600 HO engine. no fire, different wires, heard many different ways , but one im wondering about is, if i swap magnetos from a 01 into the 03 motor will it affect the timing?
