go to kijiji.ca and do a search for this number 183257260

a guy is selling a 2007 Summit X for parts. he claims the motor is good and all the plastics are good. This tells me the sled has never been in a wreck and it is in good running condition. He should easily sell it as a running sled.

he only wants 50% of the value for parts and will accept reasonable offers. He would be very lucky to get for the parts what he could easily get for the sled.

Anyways, if this sled matches a sled that you know is stolen, maybe worthwhile to look into this. It could be legit but it sure looks like it might be hot.

there is also a guy trying to sell a 09 assualt 800 in the toy trader. the price is 6800.oo.it is a scam i looked into it close because of the price.the guy doesnt ever own the sled is belonges to a guy in idaho.

so if it seems to good to be true it more than likely is.

you guys should report those to your local authorities to check out further.

There are literally thousands of these scam ads across North America. Check buysell.com, kijiji.com...etc. They almost always originate offshore, which makes them pretty much impossible to trace or do anything about legally. If you reply to them they'll usually want to use E-bay buyer protection or some other fictional variation of that to handle the money. Once you read a few of them they become pretty obvious. It still amazes me that enough people fall for it to make it worthwhile for the scammers. My rule now....if there's no phone number, move on to something else.

I was trying to buy a used Rhino last summer but gave up because of all the scams! What a joke! I can understand why people wouldn't want to give up there address, thieves could go around knowing what was in peoples garages. I found the easiest way to deal with the ads was to ask where we could meet to view the product & possibly purchase. I found out right away if it was legit! I was shocked at the # of scams, literally about 75-80% wanted a deposit and they could ship it!:nono:

My brother in law figured he had a deal on a Mastercraft wakeboard boat (40grand boat for 7K and free shipping from Dawson YT...yeah whatever!)...here is what the person ("Pamela Powell") responded to him when he inquired. Total scam.

You will receive with the boat all the papers
and documents that you need so you will not have any problem when you
receive the boat to register in your name. I will ship my boat from Dawson,YT with a truck.
In the truck will be two drivers that will drive day and night.
Ship will take 3 days. The 10 days inspection
period start from the day when you receive the boat. On the invoice page
that you will receive from eBay you will see my parents address from
United States because like i told i just finished the divorce with my husband and i have
moved to my parents for a while.Anyway i think this will not be a problem for you.I JUST
CONTACTED eBay TO SEND YOU THE INVOICE FOR PAYMENT IN THIS MOMENT AND SOME INSTRUCTIONS. ALL YOU MUST TO DO IS TO FOLLOW THE INVOICE.WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE INVOICE PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL.
Like i told the total price for boat is CAD$7000
including shipping and handling so all you must to do is to
confirm to eBay just the deposit CAD$3500 like you know. When eBay announce me the funds are in the system i will start the ship to your address. You have ten days to test my boat and after the inspection period in case you
don't want to buy my boat then you will be refunded
and i will pay the ship back to my address, but if you

are satisfied you must confirm the rest of the money CAD$3500.

P.S. In case that you don't have received the invoice from eBay in your inbox then i suggest you to check also your bulk/junk/spam/ messages, the invoice may have ended there because of the ever increasing filters of your email and maybe your e-mail doesn't support HTML language. After you make and confirm the payment eBay will send you the tracking number and shipping site to check. To avoid other misunderstanding when you go to make the payment you must use the eBay agent full name and address. For a safe trade eBay have agents which will collect the funds and they will release the money after the inspection period.Feel free to use the eBay agent full name and address. After you make the payment please fax the payment receipt to eBay but in case that you are unable to fax please attach a copy jpg of payment receipt to eBay email.ASAP

I also found this on the ebay's fraud prevention area.

13 red flags for bogus ads and the one above makes just about every one.

eBay View About Me for red-flags

I think that boat one was on Kiiji. Anyway I would be careful buying anything that the price is too good to be true or anything on the net for that matter.
