I've only gotten 2 emails from them, but you can unsubscribe and stop the crap asap, that is just for the change.org petition, I doubt you will get anything from the environmental assessment office (EAO), don't think the bc gov is into spamming.
Even if you don't live in the area, your voice counts. The proponent of this project is counting on foreign dollars to make a go of their venture, there is no reason there should be a double standard, snowmobiling is a significant contributor to the economy and the Gov knows this. The proposed development has a number of problems, water being front and center. However it certainly helps to show that we have an interest in keeping areas open. If we don't raise our voice, we will only see the closure of more and more areas accelerate, lets use Brohm as an example and really fight to keep this one, the principle and precedent are very important.
If the Province approves this development, the environmental issues surrounding it vastly outweigh any of the affects from snowmobiles, and it will ultimately serve to highlight environmental hypocrisy. Its very important that our community highlights this and makes every effort to point this out whenever possible. As they are evicting an existing user group and will replace us with a far more harmful user group, it gives us a tremendous amount of high ground to use in future negotiations. Thx to everyone that has signed these petitions, please continue to share them!!!!!
