Three of us live in a row. Three SD trucks ..... Man on my left had his SD taken off drive way last year, Guy on my right took his SD in for service the other day to the city. Went to pick it up after work... Paid for repairs,Dealer went to get truck... Yup ! No truck..... Gone ! One left, Mine !

Fords should come from the factory with "the Boot" to be applied whenever your not sitting in the unit.

I know I`ve heard them being stolen many times, but what makes them so easy to steal. I know a few years ago the Neon from Dodge was a hot car because there was so many of them on the road. More Cars...More accidents...More break downs...More parts needed.

The Superduty Door Handles Can Be Punched Out Very Easily And Almost No Mark Showing.... The Pre '08 Superduties Don't Have "chipped" Ignition Keys(unless Special Ordered Or Added Aftermarket After The Fact), So The Ignition Tumbler Can Be Damaged Enough To Turn With A Screwdriver(and Quite Neatly Too), And Then Off You Drive........... We Have Repaired Many A Superduty Door Handles And Steering Columns From Theft Recoveries.

Not to sound ignorant or anything but here's my problem with people getting their super duties stolen. Say you buy a brand new S.D. fully loaded alot of guys are jacking them up spending $3000 to $5000 on tires and rims, so that truck is worth approx. $70,000 to $80,000 and these same people dont spend a measly $600 on a top end alarm system. Every vehicle I've owned had an alarm and I've never had a problem, granted their are some theives that know how to beat the alarm but they are few and far between. Sorry if I offended anyone as that was not my intention but it just baffles me why some people wont spend that extra $600!

Very Good Point..something that disables the ignition. Many thiefs might just pass a truck by that has a flashing light and a alarm warning decal.

own a 2004 superduty factor order had a ford alarm put in on delivery you bump the body and it goes off has starter kill and the doors cannot be oppened without the alarm closed the tailgate a few times and it goes off jump in the box same thing if your parked at staging area no one around but thieves alarm worth nothing like it basically for backyard and hotel parking

How effective is a low tech device like the club? I know you can always cut the wheel with bolt cutters but do thieves really do this? Anyone know of anyone loosing their truck when using a club? Is it enough of a deterrent?

What pisses me off is the border wont let us bring vehicles in from the U.S. because they dont want to lose the market up here.. so they snivel to the govt. then the brain dead bureaucrats block importation because they are not equipped with a disabling device .. but the market only available to us is crap factory security.. i am a pretty laid back guy but i think we should be able to protect our property better.... with with a 300 win mag for example

Hey GETR'Done, on the work truck we have an Astrostart remote start/alarm combo, the alarm is loud (I set it off the other day) and it seems to work well.

I'm not sure I have heard of them... Anyone know much about the 'polar start' alarm/starter combo and the 'ultra' alarm/starter combo...

Which unit was the quote for? Not sure I'll drive to Edmonton to have it done. Thinking about replacing the unit in my truck. More than likely have a guy I know install it.

I put an alarm (Compu star alarm/start combo)in my new SD even with the chipped key, when we park in McBride I lock the rim to the spring on the front tire with an un-cutable chain. They could still steal it, just not as easy as the one next to me. That is the key, make it tougher than the guy next to you.
