have one season on mine (the skidoo ones) and plenty of time in marginal/rocky conditions near the trailhead. No issues and they have replaceable tips. no need to raise them when reversing.

Teth Air and Racers Edge sell ski scratchers. I add those to my rail scratchers. These sleds need a flap or as much scratcher as you can get if you want to stay cool on a groomed trail. Don't believe the hype you dont.

Yep, A rider has to be more diligent, I did the maxwell mod and removed the snowflap my 19, I had no issues with overheating during the winter. Spring riding will definitely, be way more of a issue.
