My sled is inside at the moment, but I store sleds out side lots.

Never had a problem with mice, had a big problem with a squirrel though. The fawker filled the whole engine compartment with pine cones lol

Had the exact same problem. They couldn't of possibly fit one more in there it was so tightly packed, the ultimate prank.

That part was funny (kinda), it's when they tore into a VERY expensive set of vintage Infinity tower speakers that were being stored wasn't so funny. They literally ate the cones out of the speakers that were wrapped tight in moving blankets and shrink wrapped.

Little bastards. My parents feed them peanuts out on the farm. But they had to trap and relocate a few that were being bad. Haha

Squirrels are definitely little bastards. A little pellet for breakfast works wonders.

How does one figure out how many squirrels are around the neighbourhood? A real life question that is very hard to have a factual answer to. Quite a few years ago, I was using a lot of bird seed (I put out bird seed and suet year round for song birds) and it seemed that was an exorbitant amount. Got out the pellet gun and started controlling the rodents. I had no idea there were so many of the little pests around. At the end of the summer, I had fed breakfast to 37 of the little bastards!!

They create a lot of havoc chewing irrigation hoses, digging up perennial bulbs, getting into places they shouldn't, scratching the patio screens on the deck, and building winter storage areas. Live trapping of squirrels and pack rats isn't in my vocabulary.

I was out getting the old dually ready for summer and found a squirrel shredded the crap out of the new air filter I put in last year, then he scared the chit outta me when he jumped out from the inside of the fender. 2 minutes later he tried getting back in but I chased him off long enough to grab the .22 out of the house...little bastard ain't gettin back in now!!

Feeding those little bastards a little bit of lead is good medicine.

Old metal screen door screen over top any foam you don't want chewed.
Works for the old triple and twin M MAX and SX Yamaha air boxes.

I hang mine upside down from the rafters. That way it keeps a tight seal of fluid on the oil and gas tank caps to prevent air from penetrating.

kinda like racking a bottle of wine,,,,,

I run Seafoam through them and put them in the shed. Does that count?

I put stabil in fuel, grease wherever there is a zerk and oil all ball joints then start them up once a month to wet gaskets, rotate bearings and inhale some smoke while having a beer.

Steel wool in exhaust to keep mice out and mothballs on the floor.

Then usually a couple more beer.
Beer is a big part of this service program.

Summerization procedure:

1. Invite riding buddies over to service sleds
2. Crack beers. Replace with full beer as required
3. Sit on your sleds and discuss jumps, climbs and wrecks.
4. Talk about riding areas to hit up next season
5. Grass Drags after the wife and kids are asleep (stock cans highly recommended)

***yes to all of the above.

I dont do a damn thing but grease everything and siphon out the fuel and use it for my STIHL yard toys all summer, never had an issue what so ever

No. Bad idea. Sea Foam, fill to the brim, and very important to run the sled to get the stabilized fuel all the way through the injectors. Empty tank= condensation heaven.

I'm not sure I would fill to the top with fuel considering the stupid ethanol in almost all gas you buy and that after 6-8 months it will lose it's octane no matter what you add to it.

Minimal fuel, maybe some stabil and a good dose of seafoam would be my recommendation. Fill it with premium before your first ride and you should be good.

Never used the etec storage once

Yup, good dump of sea foam, run it once or twice up to temp a summer and new fuel with old fuel first ride, even if there's only half tank

Never used the etec storage once

Even older carbed sleds, never one issue
