I'm looking at upgrading the track on my 2015 m8000 SnoPro Limited 153x2.6.

I want to go up to a 162. As I understand, I should be able to just replace the rails, and put the new track on.

I'm stuck between the 2.6 and the 3inch power claw tracks. As I understand, I should be able to fit the 3" with the factory 8 tooth drivers, but it would fit and run better if I flip out to 7 tooth drivers due to clearance, compressor effects, etc...

Would I need to gear up with the new drivers?

Also, what's the consensus on 3" vs 2.6"? Anyone regret the 3"? Is it a big improvement? Does it suck in certain snow conditions?

If I went with the 2.6, I would likely trim the small fingers off, making it basically the same paddle layout as the 3" and dropping 3lbs of rotating mass. Any downside to that?

I ride in all conditions, not always fresh powder, which is why I'm on the fence.

If your riding all types of conditions I would stick with the 2.6 and leave the fingers on. They will help traction on hard pack. Go with 7 tooth if you do go 3”. Clearance will be to tight and more likely to cause damage to the cooler if something makes it way that far back.
