Sorry to deflect this post, but all this talking about rules, although informative touched a nerve. It seems to me that everything is so over regulated these days and I find it so frustrating. Not only do the County's seem to have different rules but they add and change them frequently. I give up keeping up.
This was at Devon Days. I was pretty peeved off about this thing/ATV driving around the streets like an approved motor vehicle...all day! If I was on my quad following this guy I would have been jumped on and put away as if I was some gun toting raging rampaging redneck, but this guy doesn't even have a helmet, street tires ect. Huh? Just sayins all...I just want to know whats the deal here? My friends and I were pretty upset about seeing this, especially after just getting a ticket up in Vega for dirt bike riding in the ditch for aprox 200 ft of the (main) gravel road (which is a hwy?), then watching the officer ride away on his atv down the same ditch, the same distance, taking the same trail we just came from. Again, just sayins all.

When is the next meeting. We will attend and can work out the kinks.

Thanks for your thoughtful and complete responses to all the questions OHV Cop. You sound like a reasonable guy and if I meet up with a Peace Officer I hope it is you. Not too likely though as I ride outside Strathcona County despite having lived there since 1990. There are too many rules to even bother. There are places where sledders are invited and welcome and Strathcona County is not one of them
