Stealth Controls (2019) on 17 or 18 SW

Got a few miles on my 18 SW now and really like it. However, the handlebar controls, the same as on my 2011 M8 are terrible. I know there are guards to go around the buttons, but after riding in deep snow for a couple days, snow packs in and freezes up many buttons and TORS starts acting up. Does anybody know if the new controls are a plug and play upgrade, or should I just start looking to relocate some functions down into the console and simplify the system? Thanks

Have a look at Turblue's build thread. He relocated the hand and thumb warmers down on the console and adapted the Doo RER/headlight switch for the high beam control and push button start on his Sidewinder.

There’s a few ways to do it...I initially mounted the warmer and dimmer on the bottom of the post. Then you could run a shorter brake lever. Or you could do the push button start like I ended up with.

On my cat I just purchased, I think I’m going to move the warmer block down to the tee post with a adapter, use a CR or rsi throttle block and use the Polaris perc button for reverse on the other side of the tee. Then a momentary kill button on the bars. Nice and clean. Deal with warmers this summer.

But it in the 4stroke case you would need a normally closed kill button...with the push button start works better if you have a maintained switch otherwise you need to turn the key off if your stopped for a while....which defeats the purpose sorta.

Here is my temporary switch move. Also adding either a Munster or tki brake lever. Kurt at Canada sled parts made me this relocate for the Sidewinder Munster reverse switch ..he’s making the 3” to fit this warmer block.

I like the polaris switches in the console for the heaters, probably will do that for sure. On the throttle side, may go with a CR block and use a Poo kill and PERC. Already have a grip heater that lost high temp so will pull it apart and play around with it later this week. Got my LINQ adapters from Canadasledparts and High Torque rollers in before my last ride, as well loaded up the factory weights, pretty happy with how it all works. Would like to try out the 8LR weights too but will have to order those as no dealer ive tried has stock on them.
