I think I finally got my sidewinder dialed in cold air intake, dalton qay 62 clutch weights, Evo stage 4 flash and Redline Resonator pipe. Dave at Redline is able to hook guys up with everything, except my intake was CR racing.

Stock primary spring stock secondary(rollers on secondary are brand new), just changed the flyweights stock mtx are 55.5g these daltons qay are 62g base and can add up to 69.

Evos Stage 4 dyno numbers last year were 258hp at 14.8lbs boost at whatever there shop elevation is, my best guess using a little math would be 230-240hp max at 6500feet. All that's required is flashing your ecu free flowing exhaust and some kind of clutch modification to keep rpm down.

Interesting, i wonder how they manage to trick the Yamaha ECU to get such boost. Yamaha ECU has a fail safe built into it that if boost reaches around 12.3lbs it shuts down. Some what similar to a rev limiter, Yamaha call's it their boost protection.
MCXpress uses their own box that has the required program, basically eliminating (bypassing) the boost protection.
The MAX you can ever get out of the factory turbo is about 15lbs. At that she deliver's 250hp at best, anything more requires replacing the turbo as it is too small to push more.

I know Evo is into racing and tuning everything, so not unlike the diesel trucks if you have software and capability to modify stock ecu probably not that hard for them. I tried getting my hands on a MCXpress kit last year as they are a quality product but seemed like they were behind with testing at the time and Evo had a lot of good reviews early on. A few of the dyno guys confirm what you are saying that 250 range seems max for this turbo.

I just ran my 2018 in revelstoke and it was reading 15 to 16 psi on good pulls on a koso gauge. No flash on the sled. I thought this seemed high for stock

Stock Sidewinder boost pressure is less then 10lbs. I think its about 9.5lbs if i recall. Anything exceeding boost pressure of 12psi the ecu will interrupt boost.
If your seeing those high number, either your gauge is faulty or something.

My buddy in our group was seeing 14's on his stock sled at elevation his does have a straight pipe exhaust and no tune. This was on his digital display he should be able to data log it to see what his constant pressure was.

Gotta remember guys 9.5 psi is sea level to low altitude Boost press. Sled will altitude compensate to maintain the H.P. at elevation, not sure about 16psi though.

The koso gauge is new to me , I will have to read the manual. It does not read vacuum , not sure if that has something to do with it

This is true but it will not exceed the factory safety setting.
At 6,000ft the system will max out at 12.3psi, anything beyond that the system will no longer compensate.
Boost safety setting is set at about 12.3psi

This is where thing's can get complicated. A low restriction pipe can alter boost pressure and slightly trick the ecu. The system uses the pipe back pressure to control the waste gate. The ecu is programmed with the stock muffler for back pressure, waste gate control, installing a less restrictive pipe will effect waste gate control and ecu communication.

This is one one of the reason we see such a large HP gain with a simple pipe change. A straight pipe will yield you about 18-20hp with no other changes. A resonator pipe will gain you 12-15hp.
