Lots of interest! We should pick a spot to stage and a time and go from there. See who shows up and off we go. I am relatively new to the area so someone will have to pick a spot.

Hey WDP that sounds like a good idea, when is everyone availible to ride? I am good to go tomorrow if anyone is interested or the weekends are good, and if anyone knows some good spots to ride as i am not very familiar with riding in the area, i have just been going on the sturgeon river

As we get closer to the next weekend I'll post whats happening, anyone is more than welcome to join a group of 4-5 of us heading to Athabasca....on saturday most likely or sunday. Staging at the Cardiff Hall is the best....

we should all meet up on saturday!!

We should be able to go for a Saturday ride. I've always wanted to ride north of Clyde along Hiway 2. Looks like some nice riding. But where ever everyone want to ride is fine too. Post up ideas and times and we will try to be there. :d

When were you there? At Baptiste lake? We rode to the Tawatanaw valley today and the further we went the deeper the snow got. I have been to Athabasca a few times when there was lots of snow and Baptiste was terrible. We don't need to ride the Lake anyway.....See post #12

This is a great post. I've been try to research local riding opportunities and this is perfert. I line in Sturgeon by the golf course and just bought my first sled. Still learning, but am looking for somewhere close to ride for a day or just a few hours. A few feilds near my place with tracks that I've hit, but I have recently heard of the sledding restrictions in our area south of hwy 37. Would be great to connect with some of you "locals" to learn the areas where sledding is ok.

What I heard during the debate when the county put in their law, was that the river is a federal waterway, so it is not governed by local law enforcement. I ride from my back door to the river ( yes it's against the law)and get across hiway 37 then don't worry about it. Never been an issue and my tracks for sure are not the only ones down there.
