30 miles riding today on the Pro. Wooo hooo !!!! 1/2 water ,1/4 snow and 1/4 snow drifts. The drifts are great when soft, better than winter time. Sure can pull wild wheelies off them and when you land their nice and soft.
The water wellllll, fun till you get your belt wet:eek::eek:. Water is sure cold when you go over the bars on that sudden stop in 2 feet of water. Sure hard to get going after that happens, just too much water on the clutch and belt. I'm hitting 43 mph on water. I think I need to do some tuning, need to go faster:d. Will put duct tape on side panels to close cracks tomorrow. I think my old 98 700 RMK 151 was funner on water, lower to the ground and easier to carve in the water. The Pro well I'm still learning on it, one things for sure it sure picks up the front in the water when you hammer the trottle.:d:d I don't have any videos but man for spring time riding I think I'm making up for the whole winter in the fun department. Any one else doing spring time water skipping.
:dTell us your spring time fun on your sled and your little accidents on water.:d
My worst spring time riding experience was when riding in 2-3 ft of water. I was getting pretty good at carving so I decided I'll learn how to do a circle and be able to ride out of it. Well I had it hooked, was doing them great till the back end of the sled took off. Well lets just say it's sure hard to see under water when you sled runs you over and your helmet and goggles are full of dirty water. All you can think in your head is to stand up, then when your out of the water your heart start beating normal again. Oh well sure was fun but never tried that again.

I love this time of year - especially when you gotta cross water and inevitably someone says "sleds are meant for snow, snow is just frozen water right, so technically sleds are meant for water - Don't be a pussy, you'll make it, but let me just get my camera out first......"

This was last year after we got the truck stuck in a shady spot. It was about 2 more kms to snow so away we went. I needed new carbides this fall though, not sure why?

My temp light didn't even come on. Was a great day of riding in the end.

Do you go slow and not beat up the sled? Or do you just get through it quickly and get to the snow?

Not sure what the right answer is.

Most people around here know me and they know what they are getting into when they buy a used anything from me.

I kicked some snow on the sliders when I took off................

slow would be the way to go lol,, and blip the throttle to help keep it cool......

I would do that for a few kms tops then stop a few and get some snow on the sliders,,,,

its the higher speds that will wreck ur ski's when ya hit rocks etc but a steady pace like 20-25km/h would be best for the ski's and track.

not race up lol,,

Pin it and keep the skis in the air, only touch down to turn or stop. :D If its more than 1 km of dirt, I will turn around and head back. I knew a guy years back that rode some thin snow in the morning (about 4-5") on a low valley road with no elevation gain, when he got back in the afternoon it had all melted. Ran 8 kms of dirt back to the truck, burnt up the sliders, toasted the skis right down to the spindle bottoms, ruined the track, etc. It was a good lesson to learn at someone else's expense. Sleds are not meant for dirt roads....LOL
