Hi I have a 16 Axys with about 1500kms on it. I noticed the other day weird splits on my track. They are right where the track rolls around the axle wheels on the rear of the skid. As the track rolls around the axle the split opens up to be about 1/16” wide. I don’t think it’s track tension, if anything I think my track is a bit loose. Has anybody seen this before, is it common or normal?

Thanks

The track spec is very tight and it pulls the track into the rear wheels and eventually splits the track just like that. If its a snowcheck with warranty remaining I would peruse that as a claim as some people have been successful in getting a new track.

Polaris replaced mine when that happened. I run big wheel kit now as I don't want to see it happen again.

How fast do you guys ride on the trail? Too much track tension will probably do this too, but if the track is set right that shouldn't be the cause. The forces that track is under at 90Km/hr+ must be unreal. Knowing that these series 6 tracks are not the most durable to start with, this might have something to do with the cracking.

Thanks for the replies, I showed the pic to a couple polaris service techs this morning and they say there not sure of the cause either. We don't run the trails too fast I don't think, anybody have a guess on how much life is left in this track? Not sure if I should add this to my summer list of stuff to do or if I can get one more season out of it? Keep in mind my season is 400-500kms

My track was wearing due to lack of clips in the proper place but Polaris said it was because I was running the track too loose. So I tightened to spec and shortly after the track split and then they honored the warranty.
