Spare Belt holder on M1000

When I have the spare belt sitting in the holder its is wedged under the pipe with the pipe touching it should this be that way or is something not rite any info would be appreciated.

I believe thats the way they all sit on the M1000's Belt touches the exhaust. Bad design....put it in the back of seat

I too have noticed this, my solution was to intall a sidewinder clutch cover bag. The belt is routed around the bag & secured with velcro - doesn't touch the pipe now. The bonus is I gained some storage space for tools and weights, etc. Available at Canadian Tire for about $25 bucks.

take the velcro strap off the sheild and rivet it to the plastic belly pan underneath the muffler. The belt then lays on top the belly pan going back towards the brake assembly.
