When they can't get the clutching/ fire / heat / issues resolved on the 16s , build one with more power for 17....!! Yes , then drop the price and destroy the value left on a used one ( which is already terrible ) What a lack of respect for loyal customers. No wonder share prices are dropping like a rock !
Read the turbo rzr threads on rzr forums ... WOW . Not happy campers ....!

sorta unrelated but in some ways not growing up I wanted a 74 thru 79 skidoo then they went areo space and the next 2 decades played catchup to yamaha, cat and polaris. Polaris rzr troubles will be a two or three year blip tops

It's all about the shareholders with popo...
Did you know popo was in huge trouble prior to the rzr era ? The rzr completely restored the fiscal ability of popo ...
And now with a 42% drop in sales , they will not make that back in a couple of years ... Imo

Also the release of many more competive sxs's are going to hurt sales even more ...
Once you lose a loyal customer base , it does not come back over night ...!

See and with an XP 1000 I had a totally different experience, I got the letter, had my machine in the dealer 2 weeks later with all 5 recalls complete.
And now I just got a letter 2 weeks ago stating I'd get another year of warranty for the hassle bringing me to a total of 3 years warranty. I'm happy with the outcome of this at least.

6 months ago a year to year drop made Brp the clear loser there is more to both companies than the high performance side x side market frankly in the time I checked both companies drop was not as significant as many other industries. I was at banner rec in kelowna on Friday which is a Brp dealer and people where drooling and buying the spiders. Some were looking for sleds. Quads and sxs sparked no one's interest at that time. The polaris dealer is selling both quads and s x S and pumping out the 2017 sleds as well as going full gear in boat storage.

man ... who cares if its 168 hp.... its suspension is no where close to a Mav X3... so how could it handle that with its subpar suspension... the Mav X3 is now the real winner here if your a 100% performance minded rider...

Just curious, but why is the RZR's suspension suddenly "subpar" ? The X3 definately offers the most travel with 20"-24" depending on the package, but it hardly makes the RZR's 18" of travel obsolete. If you compare apples to apples in the normally aspirated category, the RZR 1000 still has more travel and horsepower than the Maverick.

It's not only the travel but the longer wheelbase too....

All of this is quite recent , thus the results from a year ago are meaningless ..
The SXS market is the bread & butter for popo , they sell more in the dune areas than all of Canada combined , so what happens in Kelowna means pretty well nothing ...
The way the rzr line up is having issues lately , adding extra warranty to the existing one is going to cost popo a bundle ....
warranty is great , but ;every time it gets used , it costs popo $$$
let alone sales ....and customers !
Time will tell... Popo pulled the same stuff in PWC market though years ago ... & where are they now ? Lol

While I am concerned with the direction popo is heading , my point is not to say they have all the bad machines out there !
Individual cases ,of great or poor machines vary like crazy based on terrain ,driver , maintenance etc etc ...
My point is on the whole , there is now way more choices in the Utv/ OHV market ...
Never have so many recall & safety & quality issues been so widespread as now with the current rzr/ ranger line up....
Never have so customers voiced concern & outright anger over popo's lack of real R&D as well as quality control !

For example : Popo admits to various overheating and clutch issues ( let alone fire issues) on the 16 turbo xpt. The " fix " does not address these issues at all ... Simply , safety and to lowball the price of current unsold 16 models to clear them out ... !!
Thus pretty well destroying the value of a used turbo .... Nice loyalty there .
Why not upgrade them to the " so called " 2017 better engineering ? Seriously , who would trade a brand new 16 in on another Polaris turbo , after being treated like that ????

Have owned a LOT of Polaris units in the past , always stood up for them ... Treated me great , but I have been around long enough to know when things are going south .... Hahaha.

Longer wheelbase on the X3, but shorter on the normally aspirated Mav. , as well as the Mav having less travel. So wouldn't that make the Mav's suspension "subpar" compared to the RZR 1000XP ?

In the dunes yes .....and desert.
keep in mind the XDS/XRS non turbo with a longer wheelbase and suspension on par or above the XP 1000.
Though I think some of the current mavs will be phased out possibly ...

Do you know the real reason why polaris pulled out of the watercraft market?
